Conjoined twins Abby And Brittany Hansel opened up about their aspirations for motherhood prior to Abby's recent marriage.

Brittany and Abby - who many of you may remember from their reality TV stints - are dicephalus conjoined twins who were born fused at the torso.

With two sets of lungs, two hearts, two stomachs, one liver, one large intestine, and one reproductive system, they have learned from a young age to coordinate their body, with Abby controlling the right side while Brittany controls the left.

Upon their birth in 1990, their parents, Patty and Mike Hensel, were given a choice to surgically separate them, however, the couple decided against it, deeming it too risky after the doctors had noted that there was little chance that both would survive the operation.

Watch a young Brittany and Abby on Oprah below:

The sisters first rose to fame after appearing on The Oprah Winfrey Show in 1996 and offered fans a closer glimpse at their lives in the 2012 TLC reality series Abby & Brittany - which followed them as they graduated from Minnesota's Bethel College and later traveled to Europe.

"People have been curious about us since we were born, for obvious reasons," the twins said in the first episode of the eight-part series, as cited by ABC. "But our parents never let us use that as an excuse. We were raised to believe we could do anything we wanted to do."

Despite being connected physically, the 34-year-olds lead their lives separately as it was recently revealed that Abby tied the knot. According to public records obtained by Today, Abby married Josh Bowling - a nurse and United States Army veteran - back in 2021.

The twins' Facebook profile picture also appears to be a wedding image, with the sisters donning a wedding dress, while Bowling, in a gray suit, stands before them holding their hand.

In addition to this, Bowling's Facebook page also features lovely snaps of him with the twins enjoying ice cream and traveling together.

His X (formerly Twitter) profile, which is linked to his Facebook account, also states: "Christian, Father, Husband, Veteran, and occasional gamer."

The former reality TV stars are now fifth-grade teachers and reside in Minnesota, where they were born and raised.

In light of the new information surfacing about Abby's nuptials to Bowling, a past interview of her and her sister talking about motherhood has circulated.

At the time, the pair expressed interest in having kids, with Brittany sharing in the 2006 documentary, Joined for Life: Abby & Brittany Turn 16: "Yeah, we're going to be moms. We haven't thought about how being moms is going to work yet," per E! News.

In the same doc, their mother explains: "That is probably something that could work because those organs do work for them."

In another interview, cited by the Daily Mail, Brittany reiterated their dreams to have families of their own, telling viewers: "The whole world doesn't need to know who we are seeing, what we are doing and when we are going to do it. But believe me, we are totally different people."

Abby agreed, adding: "Yeah, we are going to be moms one day, but we don't want to talk about how it's going to work yet."

Well, there you have it. Perhaps the next life update we get from Abby and Brittany will be about their shared dream of motherhood!
