Abby Hensel, who rose to fame with her conjoined twin Brittany, is now married.

Brittany and Abby - who are dicephalus conjoined twins - first gained national attention after sharing their life story in 1996 on The Oprah Winfrey Show.

The now-34-year-olds were born fused at the torso and remain so as adults. They share a bloodstream and all organs below the waist, with Abby controlling their right arm and leg, while Brittany controls the left.

They offered a closer glimpse at their lives in the TLC reality series Abby & Brittany, which followed them as they prepared to graduate from college and later traveled to Europe.

A lot has happened in the last decade after the twins ended their reality show after one season.

According to public records obtained by Today, Abby tied the knot with Josh Bowling, a nurse and United States Army veteran in 2021.

The Hensels' Facebook profile photo appears to be a wedding image, with the sisters donning a wedding dress, while Bowling, in a grey suit, stands before them holding their hand.

Bowling's Facebook page also features lovely snaps of him with the twins enjoying ice cream and traveling together. In addition to this, his X (formerly Twitter) profile, which is linked to his Facebook account, states: "Christian, Father, Husband, Veteran, and occasional gamer."

When Abby and Brittany were born in 1990, their parents, Patty and Mike Hensel, decided against separation surgery after being told there was little chance that both could survive the procedure. "How could you pick between the two?" Mike said in a 2001 interview with TIME.

In that same interview, the father spoke about the possibility of marriage for his daughters. He acknowledged that other conjoined twins have married, and added: "They're good-looking girls. They're witty. They've got everything going for them, except they're together."

While the Hensels have previously opened up about their lives on camera, they have kept their love lives private and stayed away from the spotlight for over a decade.

They both worked as teachers at an elementary school in their home state of Minnesota.

"The whole world doesn't need to know who we're dating," Brittany said in the 2006 documentary Joined for Life: Abby & Brittany Turn 16, per E! News. "Or what we're gonna do and everything."

At the time, the pair expressed interest in having kids. "Yeah, we're going to be moms," Brittany said in the documentary. "We haven't thought about how being moms is going to work yet."

Congratulations to Abby and Josh!
