A woman has left the internet divided by posing a simple question about how often people wash their pajamas.

Unless you're one of those perpetually warm people that likes to sleep in the nude, chances are you wear pajamas of some description most - if not all - nights of the year.

So it's safe to assume those night garments get washed pretty often to make sure they're nice and clean.

However, one woman has sparked a debate after admitting that she doesn't wash her nightwear every single night - and it's safe to say there's a lot of support for both camps.

TikTok user Allison Delperdang - who goes by the handle @allisondelperdang on TikTok - took to the platform to find out what the general consensus was.

In the clip, Allison said: "I need to know if people wear pajamas multiple nights in a row. When I was younger my parents would always make us wear pajamas multiple nights in a row as they weren't dirty. And I still do that as an adult."

She then stepped back from the camera to show the button-up onesie she's been sleeping in and said: "I’ve worn these, like, three nights in a row. So I need to know if, like, as adults, we’re still doing that, or should I be literally making dirty clothes every single night?"

The clip has been viewed over 1.7 million times and has racked up over 7,700 comments as people had their say on the great debate.

Some were left slightly horrified at the idea of wearing nightwear more than once, writing: "No. I don't reuse towels either. lol," and: "no, new ones every night for me, I don't wear jeans more than one day either (I know some people wear jeans several days in a row too)."

Others took the opposite view, writing: "Wait. There’s people that DONT wear their pjs multiple nights in a row????"

A third person chimed in and commented: "Nope clean pjs every night unless I’m away from home. Then I’ll wear them maybe twice before washing them."

A fourth person suggested: "I change towel and pajama every night. That was something mom made me do as a kid. Not everyone does that ?"

Many users were not shocked by her admission and admitted they do the same, as one person disclosed: "I wear them for like a week straight haha I hate doing laundry."

A second person added: "Saving the environment and your clothes! if it's not dirty/smelly then why wash it? I wear mine for a week in winter!"

Another said: "Here lol I don't have enough pjs to be wearing a new pair [each] night and the washing. No thnx."

Allison later posted a follow-up video about cleaning, once again asking her followers how often they do their laundry, admitting that she hates it so much that she hasn't done it "in a month or two".

"I literally hate laundry so much that I used to go to the store and buy new underwear instead of just washing," Allison candidly said.

Life's too short to make unnecessary tasks for yourself - so as long as your nightwear isn't dirty or smelly, you're probably fine to wear it an extra night or two.
