Bieber has announced his engagement to model and actress Hailey Baldwin, who he's been dating since May, after splitting up with Selena Gomez for what seems like the last time.

In an emotional announcement on Instagram, Justin wrote: "Hailey I am soooo in love with everything about you! ... I promise to lead our family with honour and integrity letting Jesus through his Holy Spirit guide us in everything we do and every decision we make. My heart is COMPLETELY and FULLY YOURS and I will ALWAYS put you first! You are the love of my life Hailey Baldwin and I wouldn’t want to spend it with anybody else. [sic]"

The reaction of Bieber's many of fans ranged from enthusiasm and excitement to outrage and disbelief, and a fair number of folks still believe that Justin and Selena are still made for each other.

However, if the latest news about the ring Justin chose for new fiancé is right, then it might be true love after all! The 24-year-old singer has apparently personally picked out and designed a beautiful $500,000 (£380,000) wedding band for  his blushing bride-to-be. Justin's own jeweller has now revealed that the musician was "really excited" about the whole romantic process.

He said: "I showed him all the details and all the intricacies like I would give any other 25-year-old boy who would come to the office to buy an engagement ring. ‘He seemed really excited. He was looking inside the diamond with the loupe (magnifying glass), and said 'I think I see Hailey’s face.' In the end, Justin wanted something that would gracefully accentuate Hailey’s beautifully-shaped hands. We settled on an oval stone that was just exceptional in its length and grace. Look at her hands – she’s exquisite"

And how is Justin's ex Selena taking the news that Bieber is now taken? Well she seems to be coping well, if her Instagram feed is any indication of her mood. The actress and musician initially appeared to have taken a vow of silence social media since Bieber and Baldwin decided to tie the knot, but just the other day she posted her first Instagram picture, and its safe to say that she's looking as glamorous as ever. Garbed in some stylish-looking gymwear, Selena struck a pose as part of a paid ad for her Puma campaign.

A source close to Selena allegedly stated that: "At this point, she's just trying to focus on her own life and her own happiness ...She's not going to get caught up in what he's doing. She's found her happy place and is focused on what's working for her." That sounds like a healthy response to me.
