The mystery surrounding the enigmatic mummified figures discovered in Peru during the summer has finally been solved.

Ufologist José Jaime Maussan and some Mexican lawmakers had stirred up a frenzy of conspiracies when they emphatically asserted in September that two mysterious corpses - named Clara and Mauricio - were authentic extraterrestrial beings.

Maussan claimed that these beings, with their three-fingered hands and elongated heads, were between 700 and 1,800 years old, and were found near the pre-Columbian Nazca Lines in Cusco, Peru.

"This is the first time [extraterrestrial life] is presented in such a form, and I think there is a clear demonstration that we are dealing with non-human specimens that are not related to any other species in our world," Maussan declared back in September.

However, these claims have finally been put to rest, as forensic experts have concluded that the so-called "alien" corpses are nothing more than intricately crafted dolls.

According to the country's prosecutor's office, per the New York Post, the eerie figures are not extraterrestrial in origin but, in fact, meticulously crafted dolls made from a combination of paper, glue, metal, and both human and animal bones.

Forensic archaeologist Flavio Estrada, who led the analysis, clarified: "The conclusion is simple: they are dolls assembled with bones of animals from this planet, with modern synthetic glues, therefore they were not assembled during pre-Hispanic times."

Estrada then emphatically stated: "They are not extraterrestrials; they are not aliens."

In a press briefing, experts displayed the 2-foot-long dolls adorned in red, orange, and green attire, while explaining that examinations revealed the use of bones from birds, dogs, and other animals in creating these effigies. However, the "very poorly" constructed hands were crafted using human bones.

The ownership of these peculiar figures remains unknown, as does the origins of the organic bones used to craft them.  The dolls were initially sent to a Mexican citizen before being confiscated by South American customs agents.

Last month, Maussan and researchers claimed that 30% of the DNA from the remains belonged to an "unknown species," leaving the remaining DNA unidentified.

They also presented images suggesting that the figures lacked lungs or ribs, a fact that aligned with their theory of extraterrestrial origin. However, this revelation has now been debunked, with the revelation that these "corpses" are nothing more than creative human-made dolls.

This is not the first time that Maussan has made such claims. Back in 2015, he claimed to have discovered a mummified alien body, which according to fact-checking website Snopes, was proven false... it was a small human child. Professor Fierro humorously noted: "He [Maussan] has told me many times that people from other worlds never visit me because I don't believe they exist."

While the mystery of the figures has been resolved, questions remain about how they were transported from Peru to Mexico after their seizure. Peruvian Culture Minister Leslie Urteaga, who initially identified the dolls as pre-Hispanic objects, filed a criminal complaint in September to investigate the matter further.

But if you're still certain that aliens are walking among us, check out this footage of what appears to show "10-foot extra terrestrials" in Brazil:

Sara Dalete from Brasília recounted the bizarre encounter on the island of Ilha do Mel, where the figures were spotted on a hilltop that she deemed impossible to reach, per the Daily Mail.

The viral footage shared on X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram, shows the supposed aliens moving their arms rapidly while remaining stationary on the hilltop throughout the recording.

Despite the unsettling nature of the sighting, the government of Paraná State downplayed the incident, with a spokesperson stating: "Our summer is from another world. Even strange beings come here to enjoy our coastline."
