Well, it's official - love is dead! After five months of dating, Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson have reportedly broken up. Their whirlwind romance captivated the internet's heart, and led to a lot of business for their tattoo artists. I know it seems like five months was too short, but just think for a dragonfly, that's an entire lifetime! Somewhere out there is a dragonfly that lived its entire life in a world where Ariana and Pete were dating.

According to TMZ's sources, Pete and Ariana "still have love for each other" but believe it "simply was not the right time for their relationship to take off." They say one contributing factor to the breakup was the loss of Ariana's ex-boyfriend, Mac Miller. Last month, the 26-year-old rapper tragically died from a suspected drug overdose, and Ariana has struggled to cope with his loss. In one emotional Twitter thread, the God Is A Woman singer begged for "just one okay day."

Insiders say Ariana has already given Pete back her $100K 3.03 carat diamond engagement ring. (Hope he kept the receipt!) But apparently, she will retain custody of their adorable adopted teacup pig, Piggy Smallz. Recently fans spotted a crib in the background of one of Ari's recent selfies, and lost their minds, thinking a baby was on the way. But nope. The crib was for Piggy. But the good news is, Pete has a tattoo of the pig on his chest, so he'll never forget him.

Currently Ariana in daily rehearsals for NBC's Wicked musical special, which co-stars airs October 29th. In one of her first social media posts since the rumored breakup, she shared a powerful message about anxiety: "Can't believe I almost let my anxiety ruin this for me today!!! Not today satan! Not tomorrow or the next day either not no more you [sic] can suck my big green d*ck [...] finna sing my heart out and be a big walking vessel of love bye."

In a follow-up message on Instagram Story, Ariana broke her silence on the split. She wrote, "Time to say bye bye again to the internet for just a lil bit. It’s hard not to bump news n stuff that I’m not trying to see rn. It’s very sad and we’re all tryin very hard to keep going. love u. and thank u for bein here always." The comment was deleted, but many people captured it in screenshots.

What's more, eagle-eyed fans noticed that Ariana covered up one of her tattoos in tribute to Pete. You know that "Pete" ink on her ring finger? In footage captured by TMZ, Ariana performs a number from Wicked, and her tattoo is conveniently covered with a Band-Aid. Did she get the tattoo covered up, happen to injure herself there, or just not want to see his name? Speculate on, internet.

Well, I guess now they're even, because concerned fans recently noticed that Pete covered up his tattoo in tribute to Ariana. The inking of bunny ears on his neck has been changed into a heart. Well, the breakup might be rough on Pete and Ari, but at it keeps business booming for their tattoo artists.
