It's been over a year since Hollywood power couple Anna Faris and Chris Pratt broke up, even if it doesn't really feel like it. Both of them have since moved on from their amicable divorce, with Faris getting together with cinematographer Michael Barrett and Pratt dating author Katherine Schwarzenegger.

Yesterday, only a few months since their relationship was made public, Pratt and Schwarzenegger announced that they were engaged"Sweet Katherine, so happy you said yes! I’m thrilled to be marrying you," Pratt wrote on Instagram, alongside a shot of the two of them embracing. "Proud to live boldly in faith with you. Here we go! ??♥️."

For those that are wondering, Katherine's surname is no coincidence - she really is related to the action star and former Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnie and Maria Shriver are Katherine's parents, and apparently her mother was the one to match her with Pratt in the first place.

So when it came time to pop the question, it was Arnie himself that Pratt had to approach to get the blessing. Just imagine how intimidating that would be...

"Chris asked for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger’s permission around Christmas," an insider told Us Weekly, adding that, "Maria helped him with the proposal," making her sound even more pivotal to this relationship's success.

"Congratulations to two loving kind caring thoughtful spiritual people we are so happy for you you are blessed as is everyone who knows you yes let’s go," Maria wrote in celebration of the news, and she wasn't the only one. Pratt's Marvel co-stars Tom Holland, Karen Gillan and Gwyneth Paltrow all shared their best wishes with the newly-engaged couple - and his ex-wife got in on the celebrations too.

In their official statement on their break-up back in August 2017, Faris and Pratt said that "we still love each other and will always cherish our time together" - and it looks that the good feeling between the two of them has only continued.

She recently admitted that, as with many break-ups, there was some "bitterness" to fight through for them both to get to a good place, but now the actress is more than happy about the recent engagement. In a comment to her ex-husband's Instagram announcement, Faris wrote: "I'm so happy for you both! Congratulations!"

Pratt and Schwarzenegger recently moved in together, which was reportedly all part of the plan for the proposal. "That’s why the engagement was out of the bag - it’s not something Katherine would have done if they weren’t planning to get married," a source close to the couple told The Sun. "They’re both very devout - that’s one of the reasons their relationship works so well - and are very committed to their faith."

Now that they're on their way to getting hitched, hopefully the rest of their relationship goes just as swimmingly as it has over the last few months!
