Ed Sheeran drops massive hint that he's married his childhood sweetheart Cherry Seaborn
It appears that Ed Sheeran may have tied the knot with fiancée Cherry Seaborn without any of us knowing.
The news comes after Ed announced that he and Cherry got engaged over the Christmas period. Taking to his Instagram account in January, a delighted Ed wrote: "Got myself a fiancé just before new year. We are very happy and in love, and our cats are chuffed as well xx"
The couple met when they were just 11-years-old and attended the same high school in Suffolk, England. Sheeran, of course, left to pursue a career in music while Seaborn went on to graduate from Duke University with a degree on Molecular Biology.
After spending years apart, the two found their way into each other's arms in 2015, when Ed was in New York for a series of concerts. Seaborn was working on Wall Street at the time and the pair met up regularly, with Ed inviting Seaborn to attend Taylor Swift's famous Fourth of July party.
One year later, and the two seemed very much in love. Swift posted a photo from her 2016 Fourth of July party and Sheeran and Seaborn can be seen sharing a kiss under a banner that reads: "Happy 1st Ed-Iver-Cherry!," which, undoubtedly, is a pun to celebrate their first year as a couple.
The duo then embarked on travelling the world together and went off on a trip to Iceland, Japan and more before returning to the UK. Speaking about the experience, Sheeran said: "This has been the first time I’ve actually had the time to fall in love properly,” Sheeran told Zane Lowe last January. “So the catalyst of taking a year off was also the fact that my partner quit her job in New York—which she’s now got back in London, which is really cool—but we were just basically like, let’s quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond. So we went travelling and spent every day for a year together.”
Since then, the couple has moved in together, got engaged and now, it seems, that they have tied the knot.
In an interview with the flamed-hair singer, Ed, 27, appeared to confirm that he had already said his vows as he pointed at his wedding ring.
During the interview, Ed was asked: "What about the wedding details? Have you picked a date? Do you know where? Do you know when yet?"
However, instead of avoiding the question, Ed seemed genuinely dumbfounded about how to answer and simply shrugged and pointed to a silver ring on his wedding finger.
The interviewer, who was surprised by the response, said, "Ah right" and Ed started to giggle and nodded happily.
Itching to find out more, the journalist continued: "That's exciting! Congratulations my friend! Congratulations! How did you sneak that one?" to which Ed responded: "Well, I never do anything too public anyway."
The interviewer then added: "That's awesome! Congratulations, I'm happy for you!"
So, it looks like Sheeran has tied the knot. I wonder what he had his first dance to? After all, he is the king of first dance music.
