Taylor Swift has recently announced that she will be re-releasing the updated version of her 2010 Speak Now album and her ex-boyfriend Taylor Lautner couldn't be happier...

The 31-year-old former Twilight star appeared on a recent episode of the Today show on NBC where he opened up on his feelings about the news, especially considering one of the songs on the album is dedicated to him.

'Back to December' is one of Swift's most famous apology songs in which she admits to being a "careless" lover to a partner who treated her well.

Speaking of the melancholic love song, she said: "Back To December is a song that addresses a first for me. In that I've never apologized in a song before. Whether it be good or bad or an apology."

"The person I wrote this song about deserves this," she continued. "So, this is a song full of words that I would say to him that he deserves to hear."

The singer also added that she's "never felt the need to apologize in a song before" but after experiencing a lot of life lessons, she realized that it's necessary.

"...Sometimes you learn a lesson too late and at that point, you need to apologize because you were careless. ['Back To December'] is about a person who was incredible to me, just perfect to me in a relationship, and I was really careless with him," she said.

Though Lautner's name is not specifically mentioned, fans are convinced that it's about him because she dated him in the fall of 2009 before calling it quits just a few months later. More specifically, in the song, some of the lines mention the man in question having "tan skin" and a "sweet smile" which bares an uncanny resemblance to the actor.

And Lautner himself recently opened up about the prospect of the new version of the song being released.

On Tuesday (May 16), he was asked how he felt and he responded by saying: "I think it’s a great album. Yeah, I feel safe."

However, he also added that there was probably going to be another man that was not going to feel as good as he is.

"Praying for John," he joked.

Lautner is referring to another track on the album titled 'Dear John' which is a classic soft diss track aimed at 45-year-old singer-songwriter John Mayer, who dated Swift when she was a teenager back in 2009-2010.

In the song, Swift, who is currently on her sold-out Eras Tour, sings: "Dear John, I see it all now it was wrong / Don’t you think 19’s too young to be played by / Your dark twisted games when I loved you so?"

At the time, Mayer was 32.

If you're wondering why Mayer should be scared, let's not forget what happened to Jake Gyllenhaal after Swift re-recorded his subtle-but-not-so-subtle diss-track 'All Too Well.'

He'll never live that one down - and he should not, if the things Swift sang about were true.

Let's hope Mayer's mentally and physically prepared himself because Speak Now will be officially released on July 7 as announced by the 'You Belong With Me' singer on Twitter.

"It fills me with such pride and joy to announce that my version of Speak Now will be out July 7 (just in time for July 9th, iykyk)," she wrote in a tweet. "I first made Speak Now, completely self-written, between the ages of 18 and 20.

"The songs that came from this time in my life were marked by their brutal honesty, unfiltered diaristic confessions and wild wistfulness" she continued. "I love this album because it tells a tale of growing up, flailing, flying and crashing… and living to speak about it.

“With six extra songs I’ve sprung loose from the vault, I absolutely cannot wait to celebrate Speak Now (Taylor’s Version) with you on 7 July," the artist concluded.

Now I don't know about you, but I'm super excited about this one.

See you July 7, Swifties.
