Jake Gyllenhaal has gotten candid about... ahem... THOSE raunchy scenes with Jennifer Aniston for 2002 comedy The Good Girl.

The Brokeback Mountain actor recently appeared on The Howard Stern Show where he discussed how the pair filmed the movie's sex scenes, with Gyllenhaal admitting it was "torture."

The flick - which also stars John C. Reilly, Mike White, Zooey Deschanel, and Deborah Rush - centers on a couple who are living a mundane lifestyle until the wife falls for a younger man at her workplace.

Unsurprisingly, Aniston plays the Mrs. Robinson-type character while her love interest is portrayed by Gyllenhaal. Mike White - the screenwriter of the flick who is also responsible for the megahit HBO series The White Lotus - won a Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay.

The movie also currently boasts 89% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Gyllenhaal, now 42, told Stern on the show that he had a crush on Aniston, now 53, during filming, which made the romantic scenes a little awkward. "It was torture, yes it was, but it was also not torture.

"I mean, come on. It was like a mix of both," he joked, via The Mirror.

"Weirdly, love scenes are awkward because there are maybe 30, 50 people watching. That doesn't turn me on [...] Most of the time, it's oddly mechanical, right? And also it's a dance, like, you choreograph it for a camera. It's one of those like a fight scene, you gotta choreograph those things and I always have tried," he stated.

Thankfully, Gyllenhaal said, Aniston was quick-thinking enough to suggest the pair implement the use of a pillow to put between them when filming the scenes. "That was just pre-emptive and used generally always when actually in a horizontal place in that movie," he recalled.

"I think that was actually a Jennifer suggestion, she was very kind to suggest it before we began [...] She was like, 'I'm putting a pillow here,'" Gyllenhaal explained.

Stern also asked the actor whether he was ready to settle down with his girlfriend of four years, Jeanne Cadieu, 26. Earlier this year, Gyllenhaal spoke a little on this private romance with Esquire, where he stated: "In a lot of ways, we're family. I'm in a relationship that is full of love and support. I feel so at ease."
