Taylor Swift is being hailed as this generation's Michael Jackson on social media and we're not really surprised considering her latest concert antics.

Over the weekend, the 33-year-old gave another massive performance at Philadelphia Lincoln Financial Field but the drama going on outside of the venue seemed to become the hot talking point online.

Thousands of Swifties, who didn't manage to get their hands on a golden ticket, gathered outside of the venue to sing along with the lucky ones inside - and let's just say it was a sight to see.

Footage from the night (May 14) was uploaded to Twitter by entertainment news account Pop Base, which captioned the post: "People gathered outside of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour concert in Philadelphia tonight."

Have a look below:

As you can see, thousands of Swifities sang their hearts out to some of the artist's most popular songs including 'We Are Never Getting Back Together', 'Style', and 'Enchanted' as well as some of her newer tracks from her Midnights album directly outside of the venue.

All fans could see were flashing strobe lights and hear the bass of the tunes, but they really made the best of the occasion.

Upon seeing the clip, social media users praised the singer, with many comparing her impact to that of the late Michael Jackson.

"I have never seen anything like that happen for anyone else’s concert," wrote one user. "Not shade just FACTS."

"She's on Michael Jackson's level atp. I think we all agree that Taylor Swift is the new Michael Jackson," added another.

A third added: "Her impact is UNMATCHED."

"Taylor Swift might be the most dominant artist since Michael Jackson like let’s be real. Stadiums not even big enough anymore and she’s doing 3 sold out shows in a row," this user pointed out.

And others even went as far as saying that Swift would soon "replace" Jackson.

While it may be difficult to compare artists like Swift to artists like Jackson as there are so many factors to consider, no one can deny the magnitude of her cultural impact.

The 'You Belong With Me' singer has spearheaded conversations around misogyny, which is still rife in the entertainment industry, as well as speaking out on social issues after remaining neutral for so long.

During his time, Jackson also proceeded to bring about important conversations on social issues such as race and class, which had a notable impact on society.

Not only that, but just like the 'Thriller' singer, Swift also has the accolades to back her s*** up.

As per Sportskeeda, Swift has won a total of 540 awards over her career as of January 2023 including multiple Grammys for the prestigious Album of the Year award.

Swift is the first and only woman solo artist to be honored thrice for her solo recordings - a recognition that will be tough to top.

Beyond being recognized by the Recording Academy, the 33-year-old has also bagged other numerous awards from Billboard, MTV and the Country Music Association, making her one of the most decorated female artists of this generation.

And it only gets better for her as she continues on her Eras Tour.

After performing three sold out nights in Philadelphia, the singer will now be heading towards the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts for another night of pure vibes.

We can't wait to see what she has in store for us there!
