Taylor Swift's Eras Tour is a dream come true for many fans, but for Queensland mother attending the concert in Sydney took a back seat to a life-changing phone call she received en route to the show...

...but not without consideration.

In a recent interview with Australia's 9News, 35-year-old mom Tamara Gray revealed she received the life-changing call as she prepared to see the 'Love Story' singer live.

Diagnosed with IgA nephropathy, an autoimmune disease that attacks the kidneys, Gray's life had been consumed by the grueling demands of dialysis, spending 15 hours a week on the treatment.

And as a result, Gray had been on the register for a kidney transplant, but never believed that a donation would become available - especially as she made her way to Gold Coast Airport to catch a delayed flight to Sydney.

The timing of the call - which came just after 8:30AM on Friday - was nothing short of miraculous, coming just 10 minutes after her original departure time.

"I got a call from the hospital saying they had a kidney," Gray revealed, explaining the turn of events that led her to forgo the concert experience. "I won't lie, there was a split second that I considered saying no [to the kidney], but, you know, I'm not crazy."

(At this time, I genuinely wonder if any Swifties out there are crazy enough to have said 'no'.)

The timing of the kidney offer was critical, with Gray acknowledging, "If I was on that flight, basically I would've missed the call and there's only 30 minutes to answer otherwise they move on to the next recipient."

While Gray missed out on the concert, her friends still proceeded to attend - but she insists that there's no 'Bad Blood' toward them.

"Now that I can travel after I've had a transplant, my friend said, 'Well we'll just go see her in Europe or something'," Gray revealed.

And, after all she's been through, I really hope Gray does get to see the singer live at some point this year.

Amidst Gray's life-changing journey, Swift recently bid farewell to her partner, Travis Kelce, who flew to Sydney to support her at the concert and enjoy quality time together at the zoo - an activity that PETA was not too pleased about.

Travis, departing for Las Vegas to join Patrick Mahomes and their Kansas City Chiefs teammates, marked the occasion with celebrations following their recent back-to-back victory against the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl.

But as this story proves, some things really are more important than a Super Bowl ring.
