Couple left furious after 'offensive' photographer's humiliating photoshop

Your wedding day is often referred to as the happiest or most important day of your life. So when there's that much pressure on an occasion to go well, you will want every element to be perfect. That also means cementing every moment in history with photos and videos, both from the attendees and professional photographers.

Hoping to make their special day all the more special, one couple bought a package for a wedding an engagement photographer, but things didn't turn out too well. Instead, they were left feeling angry and humiliated once they received their engagement photos.

Katie Liepold and Jon Kistler, from Ohio, hired Lia Silvestri from Tower Photography for their upcoming wedding, paying $600 for a package that included a series of engagement photos. As far as they were concerned, the shoot went well, but when they received the photos they were deeply disappointed.

At first, there were problems such as blurry images, bad lighting and strange angles, but that wasn't all - it turned out that she and Jon had been photoshopped to look 30 pounds thinner each in one of the photos.

Speaking to News5 Cleverland, Katie said:

"We didn’t really need the engagement session, but it was in the package so we did it. We laughed, we talked, we joked, we shared stories."

"This isn’t exactly what I thought I was going to get. She actually photoshopped one picture of us skinnier."

"That wasn’t asked for, and I just felt like that was really hurtful and my pictures weren’t good enough to be left alone."

Katie then contacted the photographer to share her concerns and the photographer said that she could cancel the contract if she wasn't happy with the finished product, but she would still be hanging on to the $150 deposit to cover the time she spent shooting the photos that day.

While not ideal for the couple, they were willing to let it go - until they saw an insulting post Silvestri had made on Facebook. Writing on the Northeast Ohio Wedding Professionals Only group, she insulted the couple in a rant, writing that the shoot "had DISASTER written all over it".

The post has since been deleted, but it read:

"Last week I did an engagement session for a morbidly obese couple. Just from the way they were 'picky' about certain things during the session I knew they were going to be a PITA."

"She 'loved' the preview then picked apart the images once she got them."

"I wish whomever ends up with these two good luck. It is extremely difficult to get Pinterest worthy lovey dovey pics when people can't even get their heads close to each other."

"First pic she was upset I gave her a chin tuck and the second pic was as close as their heads could get without straining."

Speaking to News5 Cleveland, Katie said that she "didn't pay her $150 to have her make fun of me on a site". Eventually, Silvestri came through and apologized to them for her words after she deleted the post, but this doesn't undo what was likely a frustrating and humiliating experience for the future husband and wife.
