Women are asking their male crushes to be their Valentine and sharing the brutal answers

Love it or hate it, Valentine's Day always causes a stir. But regardless of whether you're one of those people who believe that it's nothing more than a capitalist plot created to keep the economy ticking over, or a hopeless romantic, one thing is for sure: Cupid's arrow doesn't always hit the target.

This year, however, women decided to rid the holiday of its gender bias. Relationship blogger Dami Olonisakin, challenged women everywhere to take control and ask out their crushes this Valentine's day: "Ladies, ask the guy you have a crush on to be your Valentine this year & tell him you’d like to go on a date with him. Tweet me a screenshot of his response," she wrote on Twitter.

And as could be expected, the responses were mixed. While some women were left overjoyed after nabbing a date with their beau of choice, others came out feeling decidedly less pleased. Let's have look at the responses, shall we?
