Being a parent is definitely one of the more difficult tasks you are likely to face during your time on Earth, especially when your child gets to the age that they begin dating.
Your child is more than likely precious to you, so the person they date needs to be perfect for them. I imagine it's exceptionally difficult to watch your kid go for someone who you don't like or isn't good for them. However, as your child gets older, you have to let them make their own decisions and fend for themselves, unlike these parents.
This list below shows the ridiculous lengths that some parents go to in order to sabotage their kids' relationship.
1. No one likes a snitch, particularly when it's a lie
2. Pettiness = 100
3. How much are we talking here?
4. I bet your toilet suffers
5. Stop being so overbearing
6. And he agrees to show you them?
7. If she loves him, just accept it
8. Like a form of weird interrogation
9. Surely he'll just ask her and she'll deny it every time?
10. Double standards?
11. Somebody call Catfish!
12. What if she was the one pushing him to do well?
13. I'd laugh if they rekindle when she's back
14. Speaking of her ex will just make your daughter sad
15. It's always warm under the sheets
16. There are many other locations they can meet up
17. PLOT TWIST
18. But now she's miles away from you
19. You shouldn't.
Being a parent is about looking after your child, and a time will come when you've got to set them free. Yes, you might not like some of the choices they make in life, but they're their choices, not yours. All of the parents above are completely ridiculous.
Dating someone who is not right for you is just part of life, it helps us realise who and what we are after, and serves to shape our personalities.
One of the greatest experiences we'll ever have as people is the ability to bring up children into functional people. Parenting is rightly celebrated as one of the best things you'll ever achieve in your life, but nothing great was ever achieved easily, and raising a child is incredibly hard.
That's to be expected. Not only are there sleepless nights a plenty, but children can be massive jerks, and it's extremely frustrating to have to parent them. So frustrating can kids be, that these parents have confessed they actually hate their children.
1. This parent has reached their limit
2. No parent should have to feel this way
3. It's not easy being the bad guy all the time
4. "They bring me nothing but torment"
5. Kids can be a massive strain on any loving relationship
6. Parenting is a commitment for life
7. No, you haven't failed
8. Kids can be really, really difficult
9. This mom is thinking about sending her kids away
10. Becoming a parent is a life-changing moment... for better or worse
11. At least they can't see you
12. Being a mom or dad means you don't have nearly as much time to yourself
13. Sometimes, you can't help the thoughts
14. That might not help the situation
15. Every kid is a reflection of both their parents
16. Patience is key
17. It's not always easy to get your kids to listen
18. Maybe it's time for some tough love
19. A mutually undesirable situation
20. Maybe it's time to look inward
21. Sometimes, it's about giving up control
22. Seven-year-olds can be brats, sometimes
Whether or not you agree with these parents and their deep resentment of their children, you have to admit that these moms and dads are under an immense amount of pressure. Not everyone is cut out for parenting, and I hope that everyone considering becoming a mother or father thinks long and hard about their decision.
Each and every mom and dad has their own distinctive parenting style. So, what might seem perfectly normal and healthy to one parent might just be odd – or even unthinkable – to another.
But just imagine being branded as "creepy" and "perverted" for simply having an affectionate relationship with your kid. Meanwhile, the parent judging you has a distant, standoffish relationship with their children.
Well, one single father has experienced just that.
Now, he has just one question – is he the "a**hole" for telling his sister that she is "sick and delusional" for taking issue with the loving relationship he has with his 16-year-old son, or is it his sister?
The father in question is a 32-year-old single dad to his teenage son.

"We don’t have a good relationship with my family because they’re upset that I decided to take responsibility [for] my son. I haven’t talked to them in years, however, I’ve been talking to my sister occasionally," he wrote.
"She’s 42 and has a 15-year-old daughter. A few weeks ago, she told me that she was really struggling financially and couldn’t pay rent. I told her she could stay with me for a bit until she got back on her feet."
He also explained that this was the first time his sister had seen his son since he was five and that her daughter had never met him before.
The doting father noted that his niece kept herself to herself and doesn't have a particularly close relationship with her mom (his sister).
He continued: "My sister has also been acting snobby and I’ve been ignoring it thinking it’d go away. She 'discussed' more like lectured me on my parenting styles and how 'no offense' but it’s really dangerous to let a 16-year-old go out past 9pm and have a boyfriend and give him so much freedom while he’s still a kid. I tried my best to ignore it."
One day, the dad reached his limit with the unsolicited parenting advice.

The dad went on to recall how his "son was going to a sleepover" when he was in the kitchen with his sister. "My son came in to say bye, kinda jumped on me and hugged me, told me 'love you, bye' and left," he continued.
"I think that’s pretty f**king normal, but my sister started looking at me weirdly and asked if he always does that, I asked her what [she] was asking and she straight up told me that it seemed creepy and perverted to have physical contact with my son.
"I had it up to my neck at that point and I just snapped. I told her that just because her daughter has a s****y relationship with her and refuses to talk to her doesn’t mean that it’s not normal to have a close relationship with their child and she’s actually sick and delusional for even thinking about something like."
The dad said his sister was offended by the outburst, insisting she had "good intentions" and that he should apologize for interfering in her relationship with her daughter.
Deciding not to apologize, he is now seeking unbiased opinions on the situation.
The consensus online is that the dad has nothing to be sorry about – and it's his sister who should be ashamed of the way she behaved.
Parenting is no easy ride. Though I have no children of my own, it's an endeavor that clearly takes a certain caliber of person. As a result, some are better suited to what it is that they are doing more so than others. Much, much better suited. Doubtless, we may have been on the end of our own parents' misguided power trips, or simply witnessed them via others, but what you're about to scroll through sheds light on some of the worst that contemporary parenting has to offer.

Most of us at some time or another will have labeled our parental units as "controlling". Getting up to all-sorts as a child is part of our development and a great deal of the time, our parents very much aren't too "down" with what we get up to. This was the case here, but clearly this parent very much was "down" with one thing - Motion capture technology! 1984, here we come!

People have banded around to defend a mother who goes on "date nights" with her 12-year-old son.Now there's nothing that gets the internet riled faster than seeing how other parents choose to raise their children and the latest perpetrator is none other than Melissa Ann Marie who took to Instagram to talk about how she spends time with her son.In the video, the 31-year-old opened up about the fact that she was taking her young boy on monthly "dates" so that he knows how to treat a woman well when he's older.“GRWM [Get ready with me] for a date with my boy," she captioned the video, which showed her curling her hair, before giving her followers a glimpse of what goes on during their time together.“Basically you give them an allowance ($50) and they take you out on a date,” she continued, doubling down on the message in the video. “The idea is you are prepping them for how to take a girl out on a date in the future so they aren’t completely lost when the time comes. So you help them along the way with how to plan and execute a date and you teach them basic etiquette and manners."She also rounded up the things her little one learned on the most recent date including opening the doors for his date, not walking ahead of them and how to get creative and thoughtful with not a lot of money to spend.Opinions about the move were very mixed, with hundreds of people taking to the comments to leave their opinion on the matter."Kinda weird tbh," wrote one user while another added: "Why do we call it a date? It’s so nasty. Dating is for the purpose of marriage. It isn’t but sounds like grooming. Just say 'I give him $50 and he gets to take me to do something fun that he chooses.' Dating your kid. Yikes."A third also commented: "She’s gonna get pi**ed when he grows up and starts dating other women instead of her."However, not everyone was against the idea."Someone’s daughter is going to be very appreciative that you did this," this person wrote."Ugh, My heart. Good job mama," another praised. And this user also added: "This is so smart! Props to you for taking the initiative because as females, we know that the world needs more masculine men for generations to come."In an interview with TODAY, the mom hit back against the backlash, doubling down on the fact that this is a date and the use of that particular word is appropriate for the context."We are practicing for a date... I want to raise him to be respectful“ she said. "I’ve had my fair share of experiences with men ... I know what women want and look for in a partner."Melissa added that those who don't understand why she introduced this monthly tradition must lack "healthy, open communication" with their children."A lot of people don’t know what it’s like to have a healthy, open communication system with a parent,” she told the outlet. "My son and I talk about everything."The now-single mom has been on a total of five dates with her 12-year-old.“We should be raising our boys to be strong men who respect women and treat them well,” she added. "If not me, then who is going to do it?"Each to their own!Featured Image Credit: Fotostorm/Getty
Of course, every parent wants their children to lead happy and fulfilling lives. However, as nearly every mother and father will find, nothing quite goes to plan when it comes to parenting. Despite their best intentions, moms and dads everywhere have to prepare themselves for the reality that their beloved offspring might not follow the path that they have so lovingly outlined.
Yes, whilst you may want nothing more than for your child to avoid your mistakes and pursue a profession that will ensure their financial stability, there are no guarantees because - shock horror - your child is a wholly different person to you.
As such, all loving parents can do is gently guide their offspring. And that's exactly what one mother attempted to do when she published a list of dos and don'ts for her young daughter on Facebook.
Portland-based blogger Toni Hammer was inspired to write the letter as her daughter is due to start kindergarten this year, and she didn't want her child, Lillian, to experience the same hardships that she did at school.
Speaking about her time in schooling, Toni wrote: “I was picked on a lot as a kid and I hate the idea of her going through what I did. I know it won’t be long before someone tries to make her feel ‘less than’ and I want her to face it with more confidence then I had at that age".
Here's what she wrote;
"To my daughter,"Don't apologize when someone else bumps into you."Don't say 'sorry to be such a pain.' You're not a pain. You're a person with thoughts and feelings who deserves respect. Don't make up reasons as to why you can't go out with a guy you don't wanna go out with. You don't owe anyone an explanation. A simple 'no thanks' should be acceptable."Don't overthink what you eat in front of people. If you're hungry, eat, and eat what you want. If you want pizza, don't get a salad just because other people are around. Order the damn pizza. Don't keep your hair long to make someone else happy. Don't wear a dress if you don't want to."Don't stay home because you don't have anyone to go out with. Take yourself out. Have experiences by yourself and for yourself. Don't hold back your tears. Crying means you're feeling something that needs to get out. It's not a weakness. It's being human."Don't smile because someone told you to. Don't be afraid to laugh at your own jokes. Don't say 'yes' to be polite. Say 'no' because it's your life. Don't hide your opinions. Speak up and speak loudly. You should be heard. Don't apologize for being who you are. Be brave and bold and beautiful. Be unapologetically you."
[[facebookwidget||https://www.facebook.com/tonihammerwriter/posts/1193388770760661]]
Naturally, the internet had quite the response to Toni's post. While many applauded Toni for instilling her daughter with the self-confidence and belief to be unapologetically herself, others branded her teachings as "rude" and "offensive".
While one Facebook user commented, "so good. My hubby said I need to remind myself of these things too," another stressed the need for positivity rather than negativity: "Toni, why not turn this into a positive encouragement for your daughter to become a strong, yet thoughtful and compassionate person? This world is already filled with selfish and unkind people."
Well, what do you think? Is Toni's post inspirational in how unapologetic it is? Or do you think that the same thing could have been said in a more positive manner? In any case, I personally think it's always good to be reminded that you shouldn't have to "apologise for being who you are".
