Some people grow up wanting to become astronauts.
Others cast themselves as supreme athletes, or pop stars, or business people making high pressure deals in their minds' eye. When we were kids, we all had dreams of what the future would hold, each more romantic and idealistic than the last, and the often drab reality of adult life can represent something of a disappointment in comparison.
For some people, than can be no nobler profession than to service in public office as a politician. For those same people, presumably the zenith of such a career path would be to become President. The office of the Presidency, though, is not one to be taken lightly, as these before-and-after photos of US Presidents will surely attest.
1. Barack Obama
2. Abraham Lincoln
3. Franklin D. Roosevelt
4. Dwight D. Eisenhower
5. Harry S. Truman
6. Ronald Reagan
7. Richard Nixon
8. Bill Clinton
Conclusion? Being the President is something of a grueling job, and can prematurely age you. Still want to do it? Rather you than me.
