A pair of unlikely pet pals have delighted social media users in an adorable new video.

The video in question shows a white parrot named Sweet Pea, and an adorable black Labrador puppy, interacting with one another for the first time.

Take a look at the adorable footage in the video below:

As you can see in the footage above, upon meeting the little dog, Sweet Pea can be seen petting the puppy with her foot, before speaking and saying "I love you!"

The video was first uploaded to TikTok on March 23 by pet owner Wendy Albright, and the heartwarming footage of the animals meeting each other has now accrued over 27 million views, 5.1 million likes, and a further 59,000 comments from other TikTok users as of the time of writing.

Finally, someone else wrote: "Sweetest interaction I've seen yet! Love how he pets the puppy so gently."

Wendy has continued to upload footage of her two pets playing with each other, showing how their inter-species friendship has developed as her little dog has grown up.

Discussing the relationship between her pets in a recent interview with local TV stationĀ KTVB, Wendy stated: "I was holding the puppy, and the puppy was sleeping, and I allowed Sweet Pea to come meet the puppy.

"I think it's just that the world, in this time that we live in, saw that video and just loved the unadulterated love of two animals just caring about each other."
