Imagine chilling at home and out of the corner of your eye seeing a strange furry blur crawling out of a hole in your wall.

This recently became a reality for a young woman, who took to TikTok to share her bizarre experience.

The woman, TikTok user Kenna Buchanan, documented the unfolding event on her social media page, which began with her hearing a strange noise coming from a small hole in her apartment wall.

She then shows an image of her text messages with her housemate, Kiley, asking for “backup”, texting: “There’s something digging into our apartment.”

All that can be seen at first through the hole is a weird shadow, which Buchanan assumes may be “some rodent eating through the wall?”

Check out the hilarious video below:

As the hole gradually gets bigger, the mysterious creature finally reveals itself. The TikTok user then realizes it is actually her neighbor's pet hamster, Linda.

The teddy bear breed hamster had somehow managed to burrow its way through the wall into Buchanan’s apartment.

Buchanan then explains how she lured Linda out of the hole with a bag of tortilla chips, before returning the hamster to her rightful owner.

The TikToker clearly found the whole situation amusing as she captioned the video, “Entertaining night, the time my neighbor's hamster chewed through our wall into my apartment!”

The video went viral on TikTok and received over two million views and 283,000 likes, as of the time of writing.

To make light of the situation, the comments section of the video is filled with other TikTok users making jokes and reacting to the strange turn of events.

“Linda just wanted to play,” one TikToker commented.

To which creator Buchanan, replied: “She could of at least asked.”

It seems that hearing strange noises from the inside of walls is very common among TikTok users.

One TikTok user claimed: “Omg! We heard something scratching in our walls. It was bats… would’ve preferred Linda.”

“One time I lost my hamster in the walls of our home for 4 business days. WHY,” another comment read.

A fourth TikToker showed concern for the owners of Linda, saying: “How long had she been missing lol did the neighbor even know? That’s so funny I’m glad you got her.”

No neighbor has yet to come forth and take credit for the missing hamster, however, it is pretty certain that for whoever Linda’s owners are, their hamster is now a firm internet meme.
