Prepare yourselves for the most adorable story you'll read all year.
A golden retriever and a fourth-grader have warmed people's hearts this week, after the 10-year-old boy sent a hand-written letter to his neighbors asking if they needed somebody to look after their dog once the pandemic has ended.
The cute pup in question is Arthur the Floof, and his owners shared a snap of the letter to the pooch's Instagram account. The post was captioned: "I made friends with a small hooman today. He’s like basically me-sized. I bet I can get him to give me more treats than my hoomans".

(Yes, Arthur's owners caption each of his posts as if he has written them... ADORABLE!)
The wholesome letter - written in both red and blue ink - read: "Hello neighbors, my name is Troy, I’m in 4th grade and I’m just wondering if maybe after this virus you need a dog sitter and if so, I can take your dog on walks and more."
The post amassed over 18,000 likes and people flooded the comments section asking Arthur's owners if they were going to take Troy up on his offer. Basically, people really wanted Arthur and Troy to become best friends:
And not one to let his followers down, Arthur posted a snap the next days with the caption: "Guess who’s meeting Troy today!!!!"

Once again, people went crazy in the comments section. To say Arthur's fans were invested would be a gross understatement:
Arthur happily obliged, providing a "pupdate" with his followers and explaining that the two enjoyed a socially-distanced playdate. He wrote:
"Just a quick pupdate - me and the smol neighbor had a really great (socially distant) play date today. Because he’s so smol we didn’t take any pics just for privacy purposes but he told me all about his dog fren and even showed me some dance moves!! I have a feeling we’re gonna be best buds!!"

As a result of all the attention, Arthur revealed that he has received a lot of new followers, writing in a follow-up post:
"Holy h*ck, y’all. Welcome to all my new frens!!!! To everybody new here, my name is Arthur and I’m the cutest floof on the block. My hoomans told me that me and my fren Troy broke the pupernet yesterday. I’m glad it brought me so many new frens!! Do any of you have treats to spare? ? I celebrated my newfound celebrity status by trying to eat a dead baby bird because I gotta keep my hoomans humble."

And now I can honestly say that I am more invested in Troy and Arthur's relationship more than my own marriage.
