Way back in 2013, Lady Gaga revealed that she had been battling with chronic invisible pain for some time, and was trying to find ways to deal with it. Since then, the singer has spoken out about the illness, discussed the remedies that have helped her, and why self-care is extremely important when dealing with chronic pain. However, while it was branded as "invisible pain" at the time, Gaga has revealed that she suffers from fibromyalgia. In the new documentary surrounding the star, Gaga: Five Foot Two, Gaga reveals everything about her life, including the illness that she struggles with. While doing press for the documentary she often talked about her struggles with chronic pain, but never mentioned her diagnosis by name. Since then, Gaga has taken to Twitter to clear things up, and hopes that by naming her illness, she will be able to encourage a discussion around fibromyalgia. Researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies painful sensations by affecting the way your brain processes pain signals." There is currently no cure to the disorder, only symptom management. Gaga has been posting on Instagram recently, explaining the remedies she uses to help her deal with fibromyalgia. Lady Gaga brought Oprah to tears in an emotional interview, after discussing a series of sexual assaults she endured as a teenager.

Speaking in front of a packed 15,000 crowd as part of Oprah Winfrey's national tour, 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus, last Saturday in Fort Lauderdale, Gaga opened up to Oprah about the repeated abuse she experienced during her adolescence.

The candid discussion of her ordeal took its toll on the media mogul, who openly wept during the interview.

The superstar talked about the effect that the sexual assaults had on her mental and emotional well-being, describing how her trauma was so damaging that she couldn’t get out of bed at one point. Despite rocketing to fame in her early 20s, Gaga stated that she was in "intense pain" as a result of her experiences.

The Star Is Born actress stated: "I just didn’t stop moving and working and dancing through insurmountable pain. It was so frustrating. I was improperly medicated and I wasn’t in therapy. This part of the brain where you stay centered and you don’t disassociate, right? It slammed down."

She continued: "My whole body started tingling and I started screaming. I was in a hospital. The brain goes: ‘That’s enough, I don’t want to think about this anymore. I don’t want to feel this anymore.’ Boom. You break from reality as you know it. You have no concept of what’s going on around you."

She added: "I radically accepted they happened because God was saying to me: ‘I’m gonna show you pain. And then you’re going to help other people who are in pain because you’re going to understand it’.' Now, when I see someone in pain I can’t look away. I’m in pain too. Now, I’m in problem-solving mode."

After the interview finished, Oprah shared a video of herself hugging Gaga backstage on her official Instagram account. Oprah captioned the video: "Fort Lauderdale, thank you for your warmth and fantastic generosity. And @ladygaga: Your willingness to ‘go there’ with your vulnerability opened all our hearts today."

Lady Gaga's fans have voiced their displeasure after the singer shared a post on Instagram which they deemed to be "shocking and tasteless".

The singer, 37, took to Instagram to tell her followers about the migraines she had suffered from throughout her life as part of an advert for a drug designed to help.

She shared a snap of herself performing on stage, with one hand held up to her forehead as she opened up about the migraines she often experiences.

Gaga - whose real name is Stefani Germanotta - told her followers: "Ever since childhood, I’ve dealt with migraine pain. When I tried Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) 75 mg for the first time, I’ll never forget wishing I had found it sooner."

She added: "That’s why I’m proud to partner with Nurtec ODT. We’re in this together. If you’re ready to speak to a doctor, ask about Nurtec ODT today. #MHAM."

Alongside her post, she also shared slides detailing the product information as well as potential side-effects within her caption.

While celebrities being paid to share promotional posts is nothing new, fans were less than impressed that Gaga had chosen to promote medication to her followers - or that she needed to do advertising posts on social media at all.

One commented: "Is she poor?," while another added: "Why is she posting ads for medicine".

Others wrote: "ma'am??? since when are you doing sponsored posts??? this is wild", "Baby you don’t need money this badly…", and "oh rent is DUE."

Some claimed that the post went against Gaga's previous philosophy that money wasn't everything, writing: "Lady Gaga Monster Ball DVD 2011: 'I hate money' Lady Gaga 2023: 'buy medicine'".

One also pointed out that celebrities being paid to promote medication was something not seen in many countries bar the US, writing: "Wow. I'll never normalize celebrities being paid to endorse big pharma."

Another added: "This ad is shocking and tasteless. Health is not a consumer good. We don't sell medicines as if they were iPhones or Oreos. Health should be accessible to all and be prescribed by Doctors, not pop stars. Wtf."

Nurtec can cost around $1,000 for a month's supply, meaning that the high costs would not make it accessible for all that need it.

Gaga had also opened up about her "debilitating" migraines in an interview published on Pfizer's website, saying: "I would be in bed for days with tremendous pain in my head, behind my eyes, and all throughout my face.

"I couldn’t read or have any lights on, and I needed to be alone in a quiet room for hours that could lead to days until the pain subsided."

Gaga is not the only person to have shared sponsored posts for Nurtec, as Khloe Kardashian and Whoopi Goldberg have also previously endorsed the product.

Have you ever woken up after a crazy night out and suddenly remembered doing something really stupid and that's probably why you're covered in bruises? Well, I'm guessing that's how Lady Gaga is feeling right now after a video has been circulated online showing the 'Pokerface' singer taking a nasty fall off stage after she was dancing with a very excited fan.

Per the Metro, last night was supposed to be the triumphant return for the songstress to her Enigma residency in Las Vegas, Nevada, since last performing there back in June. However, as this fan-shot footage proves, the opening night did not go smoothly as Gaga took a hellacious bump after thinking it was a good idea to let a fan pick her up and dance with her.

As you can see from the footage below, Gaga should definitely leave the dancing to the professionals:

The short clip shows the 33-year-old singer and actress dancing on stage with a fan, with her legs wrapped around his waist. However, following some energetic gyrating, the man loses his footing and the pair come tumbling off the stage and towards the ground - Gaga first.

That's right, if it wasn't bad enough falling into the pit, Gaga appears to have the full weight of the man come crashing down on top of her.

The footage was posted by a fan account and informed Gaga’s followers: "Lady Gaga fell off stage tonight during Enigma. Thankfully, she is ok and continuing with the show #ENIGMA."

The video was also captioned: "Holy s**t I can’t believe I got that on camera wait for her to fall holy s**t’."

Since taking the tumble, Gaga is yet to address the incident on her social media accounts, but she did post several images of herself preparing for her Vegas comeback - which included a shot of her in an ice bath.

The Enigma residency first debuted at the Park MGM in Las Vegas back in December 2018, with breaks from February to May 2019 and from the end of June until this week. The show is currently scheduled to come to an end in May of 2020, with the two-year contract rumored to be earning Gaga – real name Stefani Germanotta – somewhere in the region of $100 million (£78 million), Rolling Stone report.
