It's been 15 years since Anna Nicole Smith tragically passed away from an accidental drug overdose.
But the model's former boyfriend, Larry Birkhead, is still keeping her memory alive.
Birkhead - who shares a 15-year-old daughter Dannielynn with Smith - shared a rare snap of the two together in a bittersweet Instagram post paying tribute to his late partner.
In the black and white photo, Birkhead and Smith can be seen locked in a tight embrace with their legs wrapped around each other.
"Still remembering this one 15 years after her death. She was truly one of a kind. She struggled for love and acceptance. Just when she found a little piece of one or the other, life seemed to sabotage," ex-entertainment photographer Birkhead wrote in the caption.
"Today, I remember your heart, your soul and your beauty, both inside and out," he added.
The 49-year-old father went on to say that Smith lived on in their daughter Dannielynn.
"Your love is alive still to this day, in the form of a truly one of a kind teenager with her Mom’s smile, beauty and courage," he wrote.
He then signed off the caption by thanking his ex-girlfriend's fans for their continued support, writing: "Thanks to Anna’s fans for helping keep her memory alive. We love you Anna Nicole."
In 2007, Smith died of a drug overdose in the Bahamas when her daughter was just five months old. A highly publicized paternity case ensued, in which several men - including Birkhead, Smith's attorney Howard K. Stern, and one of Smith's former bodyguards - all claimed to be Dannielynn's biological father.
After DNA tests confirmed that Birkhead was in fact that young girl's biological dad, he took his daughter to Kentucky, where he has raised her quietly, away from the spotlight.
However, Birkhead still shares updates on his teenage daughter's life with fans, often posting snaps of the two during the Kentucky Derby celebrations.
He also occasionally shares pictures commemorating Dannielynn's mother, letting fans know that though the model is gone, she will never be forgotten.
