Fans have been left worried for Bebe Rexha after an incident at a concert in New York left the star injured.

The 33-year-old singer was performing at The Rooftop at Pier 17 on Sunday during a date of her Best F'n Night Of My Life tour when she was struck in the face by a phone that was launched at her from the crowd.

Rexha, who was dressed in a matching hot pink two-piece, was seen walking towards the front of the stage while singing one of her hits when the item was thrown from the distance, hitting her directly in the face.

She grabs her face upon the impact and turns her body away from the crowd as the pain takes over. Then suddenly she falls to her knees and staff members, who were watching from the side of the stage, rush towards her.

Footage of the moment was uploaded to Twitter by the popular news account Pop Base, where it was then seen by thousands of other fans who were left concerned for the star's welfare.

"Hope they've identified who it was and I hope Bebe will be suing his a**, this is blatantly uncalled for and disgusting," wrote one user.

"No I swear to god if I was there I would find this mother****** and start fighting cause what the f***
if you don't like the artist don't go to their show and don't do s*** like this," added another.

"It’s like she’s under some kind of curse, she just cannot win, I feel so bad. Why does everyone have to constantly disrespect her? It used to just be online but now her concerts? The one and only safe place for her and her fandom?? Karma is a b**** and she will find you all," a third wrote.

In a separate video after the incident, Rexha can be seen clutching her face behind a curtain while being checked over by medics.

She gives her fans a little wave as they cheer for her.

We were all having a hell of a good time and so was Bebe, we were all having a blast, I mean who would even do that??? We hope you’re ok
@BebeRexha."

Updates revealed that Rexha had to get three stitches after the blow and that the 27-year-old perpetrator was arrested.

"Police were notified of an assault that occurred at the concert space... A preliminary investigation on scene determined that a 27-year-old male intentionally threw a cell phone at [Rexha]," an update by the NYPD stated.

No one's entirely sure whether the singer will be out of action, but she does have four more dates a June 20 date at The Fillmore in Philadelphia; June 21 at The Fillmore Silver Spring in Silver Spring, Maryland; June 23 at the Tabernacle in Atlanta; and on June 24 at the Hard Rock Live Orlando in Orlando, Florida.
