Billie Eilish has hit out at critics who branded her a "hypocrite" for showing off her body in her latest photoshoot for British Vogue.

The 19-year-old singer debuted a brand new look in a series of new sultry pictures as she graced the June 2021 cover of the magazine.

And the images are a far cry from Eilish's signature look, which saw the singer rock a green and black hairstyle and baggy clothing.

Eilish opted for a sheer corset and stocking with suspenders, as well as blonde hair, which she admitted makes her "feel like a woman".

The singer has been vocal about her thoughts on body positivity and self-love, previously admitted that she wore baggy clothes so she couldn’t be subject to criticism.

But after images from the shoot emerged online, some critics slammed Eilish for being a "hypocrite" as she ditched the baggy clothes and instead wore plunging lingerie.

Eilish was quick to hit back at the comments, simply telling haters that the amount of clothing she wears should have nothing to do with the respect you receive.

She told the magazine:

"Suddenly you're a hypocrite if you want to show your skin, and you're easy and you’re a slut and you're a wh**e. If I am, then I'm proud.

"Me and all the girls are h**s, and f**k it, y'know? Let's turn it around and be empowered in that. Showing your body and showing your skin – or not – should not take any respect away from you."

Elsewhere in the interview, the singer opened up on her decision to wear a corset.

She added: "[People might say,] 'If you're about body positivity, why would you wear a corset? Why wouldn't you show your actual body?' My thing is that I can do whatever I want. It's all about what makes you feel good."

Per the Daily Mail, Eilish's bombshell cover broke an Instagram record as it reached one million likes in just six minutes - a record that comfortably makes her post the fastest to do so in the social media platform's history.

The shots were taken by photographer Craig McDean, with the 'Everything I Wanted' singer looking incredible in a custom Gucci corset and skirt, along with Agent Provocateur underwear.
