Fans of Britney Spears have taken to social media to once again voice their concerns for the singer after she shared a picture of herself with boyfriend Sam Asghari.
In an Instagram post intended to celebrate the 'Toxic' singer's 39th birthday, many of Britney's 26.9 million followers were more concerned by the fact Asghari's hands appear to be around Spears' neck.
Despite both Spears and Asghari smiling in the snap, the post received over 33,000 comments from several Instagram users pointing out the apparent "red flag".

For example, Instagram user 'caitlinmilligan' replied in the comments section: "Hand around your neck... this is horrifying".
And user 'mynamesmarino' typed: "looks like domestic violence".
A third, user 'brit.lynn' commented: "The hand is concerning af", as another fan wrote: "Yo I really don't like this pose."
Instagram user 'pnahwuzzer' commented: "not a fan of his hand placement", which was echoed by user 'maryhughes15', who typed: "His hand placement worries me..."
Another, 'oogsydney' commented saying: "I feel like this is a red flag".
Shortly after sharing the snap, Britney posted another pic of the pair in the same outfits, this time with Asghari leaning in to kiss the singer on the cheek.

Britney and 26-year-old fitness trainer Sam have been dating since 2016, after meeting when he played her love interest in her the music video for her single 'Slumber Party'.
Last month, the couple enjoyed an early birthday celebration when they took a private jet to Maui for a "magical" getaway.

In addition to her vacation, Spears also marked her birthday by dropping a previously unreleased track, 'Swimming In The Stars'.
Per Rolling Stone, Spears has recorded the track during the sessions for her 2016 album, Glory.

This comes as Spears continues her legal battle in court to remove her father, Jamie Spears, from her conservatorship.
As reported by The Sun, Spears' attorney, Samuel D. Ingham III, recently revealed that Britney would not perform again until Jamie was suspended.
Ingham told judges: "My client has informed me that she is afraid of her father. She will not perform again if her father is in charge of her career."
