Adult star Elsa Jean has shared the outrageous way her family discovered her career in the adult industry.
Now, although many of us would be quick to tout our career successes to our family members, there are some professions that some individuals may want to keep under wraps.
For example, although attitudes towards the adult entertainment industry and those involved in it are changing, it's probably no surprise that some stars want to keep the x-rated nature of their 9-to-5 quiet from relatives.
That was certainly the case for 26-year-old Elsa Jean, a former grocery store worker and Starbucks barista who transformed her life when she entered the adult entertainment industry at the age of 18.
Real name Sapphire Nicole Howell, the knockout blonde first earned the name "Elsa" (after the Disney princess) when she worked as a stripper in Washington, DC, per her IMDb page. And after transferring to an on-screen role, Jean was left stunned after her first scene on Pornhub was not only seen by her uncle... but he commented on it too.
Sharing the bizarre story to Holly Randall during her appearance on the Unfiltered podcast, Jean revealed that although she doesn't know for sure how her mom found out about her career, she suspects it was through other family members.
"I know at the very beginning... This is so sick but one of my uncles commented on my first scene on Pornhub," she told Randall. "So I think that set my aunt off and I think she was the one that maybe exposed everything, I’m not sure."
"But yeah, they found out quick," Jean added.
The 26-year-old then revealed that although she "talks to her mom about everything", the one thing they don't discuss is what goes on in the bedroom... or sauna... or couch.
Jean added that she has no idea what her mom tells people she does for a job.
Recalling the moment her mom found out she had lost her virginity, Jean said: "One time I wrote a note when I lost my virginity, like I love to journal and so I wrote a note about what had happened and my mom wrote a note back and said, ‘It’s okay, everything’s okay, I’m not upset or anything.'"
"I was mortified that she knew I had sex so I can’t imagine talking to her about me shooting porn," Jean said.
Jean has since retired from mainstream adult movies, telling Randall that she called it quits after a company lied to her about testing. She said that the lie led to her getting a "treatable STD" after a scene with three or four guys.
