Amy Schumer has claimed that she is the "most successful female comedian of all time" as she has fought back against those who comment on her social media posts.

The stand-up comic took to her Instagram account this week to address the controversy and emphasize her stance after she made comments about the conflict in Israel and Palestine.

Schumer, known for her vocal social media presence, has expressed her concern for Israelis in the wake of the Hamas offensive, regularly updating her followers in support of the Jewish community and condemning Hamas.

However, her position has not been without controversy, as some argue that Israel's historical treatment of Palestinians and the scale of its counterattacks have fueled anger and criticism.

In an attempt to address the growing outrage and clarify her stance, Schumer made it clear that she desires "peace" and wants to see "every hostage back," expressing her wish for "safety and freedom from Hamas for Palestinians and Israelis."

She added: "I want safety for Jewish people and Muslims as well. Everyone. Just like you. I want peace. You will never see me wishing harm on anyone."

Addressing accusations of Islamophobia and support for genocide, Schumer responded: "Saying I'm Islamophobic or that I like genocide is crazy. So here you go by popular demand. Comments on. Please keep the below in mind."

However, some critics accused her of making the conflict about herself. Schumer fired back, defending her career, stating: "When you say I'm rich, please add in 'self-made.' I come from being dirt poor. Senator Chuck Schumer is my dad's second cousin once removed. I didn't meet him until I was 25. I have never been given any money to support a cause other than tampons."

She also refuted claims of being a joke thief, asserting: "I've never stolen a joke."

In a bold claim, Schumer declared: "People calling me a failed comic. I'm the most successful female comedian of all time. I'm ugly/fat, okay. Sorry you aren't attracted to me. I found someone who is. I hope you find someone too. We are all in a lot of pain. What hurts the most is that we all actually love each other. You hate Jews. You don't know why. I still love you."

The assertion of being the "most successful female comedian of all time" has, unsurprisingly, sparked its own debate.

A January 2022 report on the wealth of female comedians ranked Ellen DeGeneres as the highest earner with $500 million, followed by Julia Louis-Dreyfus at $250 million. Schumer was listed in the ninth position with $45 million.

Of course, success isn't measured entirely by money, and it is undeniable that Schumer has an illustrious career with many awards to her name.

Notably, she has 13 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, a Golden Globe Award nomination, and two Grammy Award nominations.

DeGeneres, in contrast, boasts an impressive 33 Daytime Emmy Awards, a Primetime Emmy Award, and a Golden Globe Award, along with nominations for Grammy Awards and a Golden Raspberry Award
