Ariana Grande and her estranged husband Dalton Gomez have officially filed to dissolve their two-year marriage.

The 30-year-old 'Thank U Next' pop star reportedly filed for divorce from the luxury real estate agent, 28, on Monday (September 18), with Gomez immediately filing a response, according to PEOPLE.

TMZ reported that the date of separation is listed as February 20, 2023, with Grande's lawyer, Laura Wasser, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

While news of the couple's separation broke in July, the divorce filing is happening two months later as the 'One Last Time' songstress and Gomez were "taking their time together to slowly work through the details of the agreement privately," per the outlet.

A source described the pair's uncoupling as "kind and patient" and claimed that they have been "really caring and respectful of one another through every step of this process".

An insider also told PEOPLE that the pair's marriage allegedly "didn’t work" once the Grammy-award winner began to film for Wicked in London, and their relationship became long-distance.

They alleged that the separation was nothing but amicable, and that "Ari has nothing but kind words to say about Dalton," adding: "During their marriage, he was her number one fan."

The former couple began dating in January 2020 and made their romance public when they appeared together in the music video for Grande's song with Justin Bieber, 'Stuck with U', in May of that year.

Five days after Christmas 2020, the 'Thank U, Next' vocalist revealed she got engaged. A few months later, the pair tied the knot in front of 20 guests at her Montecito home, with her parents both walking her down the aisle.

While the Grammy-winning superstar has kept her marriage out of the spotlight, she shared a sweet post on her Instagram story in May to commemorate her two-year wedding anniversary with Gomez.

She captioned a photo from their wedding with "2" to signify the years of marriage and also penned "3.5 [years] together," before adding: "I love him so."

Just days after news broke about her separation from Gomez, fans were left in shock by reports that the 'Positions' musician had reportedly found love on set with her Wicked co-star Ethan Slater.

However, the reports of their rumored romance left many people confused by the fact that the 31-year-old Broadway alum was married to his wife of four years, Lilly Jay, with whom he shares a son.

However, speculations continued to intensify as TMZ reported that the actor filed for divorce from Jay in July.

While neither the 'Break Free' singer nor Slater has officially commented on their alleged relationship status, the latter's ex-wife has broken her silence on the pair.

In an interview with Page Six published in July, Jay - who was in a relationship with Slater for 10 years before marrying him - said: "[Ariana’s] the story really. Not a girl’s girl," and remarked: "My family is just collateral damage."

The musician told the outlet that she's focusing on raising her and her ex-husband's baby and being "a good mom," adding: "The story is her and Dalton" - referencing Grande's split from her former husband.
