Billie Eilish has waved goodbye to her signature black and green locks and said hello to a new platinum blonde 'do. Oh, and she's also smashed an Instagram record in the process.
While the 19-year-old seven-time Grammy winner is no stranger to dyeing her hair, she has in recent years been known for her unconventionally colored hair.
After teasing her fans with the new look, she debuted it on her Instagram account and has reportedly broken a record previously held by none other than Selena Gomez.
Check out Eilish whipping her new blonde locks here:According to the Instagram account Pop Faction, the 'Ocean Eyes' singer's photo racked up one million likes in just six minutes! Previous record holder Gomez was able to reach a million likes in seven minutes with her 26th birthday post in 2018.
Eilish captioned the snap: "Pinch me." And in it, the hitmaker leaves her more alternative look behind as she channels the likes of Marilyn Monroe and Farrah Fawcett.
The photo currently has over 16 million likes at the time of writing and has garnered thousands of gushing comments.
The teen also posted a video featuring her new tresses. In the video (above), Eilish, wearing a white cardigan, playfully poses while flipping her hair.
The photo and video were posted after the young star teased her fans on her Instagram Story, asking them if they could guess what color she would dye her hair next.
Per Popbuzz, fans have actually been waiting some months for the hair change as Eilish previously said in an Instagram Live that she would be dyeing it following the release of her Apple documentary in February.
In the Instagram Live from December 22, 2020, she said: "I'm changing it after the doc comes out. It will be the end of an era. I'm gonna give you a new era."
It's certainly been a glorious end to an era, with the teenager bagging herself the Record of the Year Grammy for 'Everything I Wanted' on Sunday. The gracious star even admitted that she felt the award should have gone to Megan Thee Stallion.
Check out her acceptance speech below:"This is really embarrassing for me," Eilish said in the speech. "Megan, girl, I was going to write a speech about how you deserve this."
In any case, there's no doubt that Eilish - a real prodigy - will go far in this business!
