Now, the Beverly Hills, 90210 actor has revealed why it all ended - and it seems like it was the little things that started piling up.

Green shared that he began to notice things weren’t going well when even small habits, like his chewing, began to irritate Fox.

Speaking with former co-star Tori Spelling on the MisSPELLING podcast, the Beverly Hills, 90210 star revealed that his relationship with the Transformers actress reached a point where minor irritations became symbolic of larger issues.

“She’d gotten to the point where things weren’t great, so I think everything was annoying her,” Green said.

“You kind of get to the point where you’re like, ‘God, just the way you’re shuffling your feet right now. The way you’re putting that toast in the toaster’s just driving me crazy.’ It’s all that stupid little stuff.”

Green, 51, reflected on these “stupid little” irritations, calling them a critical juncture.

“That to me is when you either have to make the choice to say, ‘OK, we’re going to go into therapy, and we’re gonna try to find our connection and figure out what’s going on now, or these things are going to sink us,’” he explained.

Green added: “They’re going to be the death of us. Because they just build up and build up and get worse and worse.”

Spelling, also 51, recalled Fox’s irritation with Green’s chewing habits while they were filming the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot in 2019.

“I remember thinking at the time, ‘How bad could it be? She loves him. That really bothers her?’” she shared on the podcast.

Green and Fox began dating in 2004, tying the knot in 2010.

The couple, who share three children - Noah, 12, Bodhi, 10, and Journey, eight - had a turbulent relationship that saw Fox filing for divorce in 2015 before they reconciled later that year. However, the pair officially separated in 2020, with their divorce being finalized in 2022, per Page Six.

Fox has also reflected on the relationship, candidly discussing it in a March episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast.

The star admitted that, in retrospect, she may not have been ready for such a committed relationship in her early years.

“I was young and really should not have been in a relationship of that level of commitment and that magnitude,” she explained, adding that she often found herself drawn to others.

“I would go to work and fall in love because I was a kid and, yeah, I never had the full freedom to be single and experience that life.”

Despite their separation, Green and Fox have maintained an amicable co-parenting relationship.
