Britney Spears has once again worried her fans after sharing a series of Instagram posts about the color red.
The Toxic singer, 39, took to Instagram on Tuesday, March 23, to share a series of cryptic posts, all of which mentioned the color despite there being little to no red in the pictures.
Britney captioned a carousel of photos of herself in a lace top: "Twisted Elegance … introducing RED."

A few hours later, she shared a video of herself dancing in the same outfit, writing: "No lipstick … blush … or foundation cause I was in a rush … but you get the idea !!!!! RED [chile-pepper emoji] !!!!!"
As neither of the posts contained any red in them, fans were quick to take to the comments section to speculate about what the singer meant with her unusual captions.
One wrote: "Wait .. what? .. I can't find any Red. Lots of Black.. are you ok [sic] seems to be alarming your Fans. Me I'm one. Love to you Brittany #makeschange"

A second speculated: "Red = next steps towards Freeing Britney? Interview, Netflix, Documentary, so many options [sic]."

Meanwhile, a third speculated: "I think Red is either a new cosmetic line or album she is putting out. Most of this is publicity to feed the hype... it seems to be working."

These posts were then followed by an explicit reference to the color red in the form of a close-up picture of a pair of lips, accompanied by two fingers covered in red nail polish.

Reacting to this picture, one fan couldn't help but proclaim: "OMG WHAT DOES RED MEAN WE NEED THE TEA [sic]."
These unusual posts come after the release of the new documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
It details the 39-year-old's rise to fame and notorious 2007 meltdown, which led to her father Jamie being named her conservator - a role she is now trying to have him removed from.
While Britney's father no longer has conservatorship over her "person", he still controls Britney's estate which prevents the singer from making her own financial decisions.
Watch the trailer for Framing Britney Spears below:One of the documentary's interviewees is Jive Records marketing executive Kim Kaiman, who worked with Britney during the early part of her career.
He said of Britney's father Jamie: "The only thing Jamie ever said to me was: "My daughter is going to be so rich she’s going to buy me a boat," That’s all I’m gonna say about Jamie."
