Britney Spears has told a judge that she wants to have a baby but is not permitted to remove her IUD.
A number of explosive claims were made during yesterday's conservatorship hearing, which saw the 39-year-old pop star ask to end her 13-year conservatorship.
In a virtual appearance before a Los Angeles court, Britney spoke out against her conservator, that is her father Jamie Spears, alleging that she has been unable to "get married and have a baby".
As part of her emotional address, she told the court, per People: "I would like to progressively move forward and I want to have the real deal, I want to be able to get married and have a baby."
Britney shares two teenage sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline - Jayden, 14, and Preston, 15. Kevin and Britney's divorce was finalized in 2007 and the singer has been dating 27-year-old model Sam Asghari since 2016.
The 'Toxic' chart-topper then alleged to the court: "I was told right now in the conservatorship, I’m not able to get married or have a baby, I have an [IUD] inside of myself right now so I don’t get pregnant. I wanted to take the [IUD] out so I could start trying to have another baby.
"But this so-called team won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out because they don’t want me to have children - any more children. So basically, this conservatorship is doing me way more harm than good."
Britney went on to describe how essentially every aspect of her life is controlled by her conservator and management team.
She continued: "I deserve to have a life. I’ve worked my whole life. I deserve to have a two to three-year break and just, you know, do what I want to do. But I do feel like there is a crutch here. And I feel open and I’m okay to talk to you today about it.
"But I wish I could stay with you on the phone forever, because when I get off the phone with you, all of a sudden all I hear all these no’s - no, no, no. And then all of a sudden I get I feel ganged up on and I feel bullied and I feel left out and alone."
She added: "And I’m tired of feeling alone. I deserve to have the same rights as anybody does, by having a child, a family, any of those things, and more so."
Father Jamie, and his team of lawyers, made a virtual appearance at the hearing, with the legal team saying Jamie is "sorry to see his daughter in so much pain" and "loves his daughter and misses her very much."
They also claimed that Britney has always had the right to "petition for the termination of this conservatorship" but in "13 years has never exercised it". Britney claims, however, that she was unaware that she could petition to end the conservatorship.
Britney has been under the control of her conservatorship since 2008 when she was hospitalized over concerns about her mental state. It was then that Jamie was placed in charge of her finances and personal affairs.
