Cardi B has cursed her misfortune after reportedly inadvertently leaking one of her own nude selfies.
The 'WAP' rapper has been in Vegas for the last few days in celebration of her 28th birthday, alongside big-name showbiz pals such as Kylie Jenner, her estranged husband Offset, and 'WAP' co-star Megan Thee Stallion.
While the birthday frivolities were doubtless huge fun, in the aftermath bright and early Tuesday morning Cardi accidentally shared an NSFW snap to her Instagram story. Yes, a nude selfie of the rapper appeared on her story before being swiftly removed, leaving Cardi to explain the blunder in a voice note posted to Twitter.
Cardi B previously slammed body shamers after she "gained a little weight":“Lord, Lord, why the f**k you have to make me so stupid and r******d? Why? Why, why, why?” She said, before resolving to give herself a break over the error.
“You know what, I’m never going to beat myself up about it.”
"I’m going to eat my breakfast, and then I’m going to go to a party because I’m not even going to think about it," she went on. "I am not going to think about it, ok? Nope, no I’m not. I’m not. It is what it is. s*** happens. f***- it, it’s not even the first time. I mean, I used to f***ing be a stripper so whatever. Ay, Dios mío."
However, some fans took exception with Cardi's use of the 'R' word in her explanation of events.
"[Hi] pls don’t say the r word, other than that , i don’t rlly listen to ur music that much but i do belive in respecting other people so i hope ur doing ok, it’s no ones place to leak other people’s pics." Wrote one commenter on Twitter.
"[Omg] did you just use the r word" wrote another concerned fan.
"[Someone] tell cardi b to stop using the r word please. it is so disrespectful and people have told her multiple times to stop," a third commenter added.
Cardi also appeared to set the record straight over who leaked the photo with another post to her Instagram story.
“I did not posted ]sic] no story about me suing nobody … nobody to be sued. It was my f**k up … s**t happens.” She said.
Last month, Cardi told her fans that she's "not shed not one tear" since filing for divorce from her soon to be ex-husband Offset.
In an extended video posted to her 75 million Instagram followers, the “WAP” singer revealed how, though she was grateful for the outpouring of support she had received from fans, she was in a good place following the split.
As 27-year-old Cardi explained to her supporters:
"I want to say thank you so much. However, like, I don't really need it.
"I'm okay. I want to let you know I have not shed not one tear."
The rapper also went into greater detail than ever before on the reasons behind the couple’s split, refuting claims that Offset was expecting a child with another woman. As Cardi put it:
"This time, I wasn't crying. Wanna know why? The reason my divorce is not because of none of that s— that ever happened before. It's not because [of] the cheating."
