Chris Pratt addresses major rumor about his marriage to Katherine Schwarzenegger and says 'let’s settle it now’

Chris Pratt is finally putting an end to rumors about how he met his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger.

During an appearance on Fox & Friends this week, the Guardians of the Galaxy star took the opportunity to clear up misconceptions once and for all.

Debunking the Maria Shriver Rumor

Pratt, 46, was quick to dismiss the popular story that Katherine’s mother, Maria Shriver, had introduced the couple.

Setting the record straight, he told host Steve Doocy: “That’s actually not true. Let’s settle it now.”

Instead, Pratt revealed a much more personal story of how their love story began.

The actor shared that he first met Katherine at church, not through a family connection.

"I met my wife in church," Pratt said. “I was at a church in Hollywood, and I looked over, and I saw her. And I know you’re not supposed to be, like, checking out girls at church, but I’m only human. And I thought, ‘Wow, she’s really cute.’”

At the time, Pratt was with his son Jack, who was just a little boy at the time.

He explained: “I was there with my son Jack, and I picked him up from the kids program, and Jack and I met Katherine basically at the same time.”

And just like that, Pratt’s life changed forever. "And, yes, the rest is history," he added with a smile.

Marriage and Family Life: A Fairytale in the Making

Pratt and Katherine tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony in Montecito, California, in June 2019.

The event was attended by an array of famous faces, including Katherine’s parents, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, along with her siblings Christina, Patrick, and Christopher.

Since their wedding, the couple has welcomed three children: daughters Lyla, five, Eloise, three, and their son Ford, 13 months. The couple’s growing family is now a key part of their life together.

Do His Kids Know He’s a Superstar?

In his interview, Pratt also discussed how his children view his fame. Despite being one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, Pratt revealed that his younger children don’t yet grasp the full extent of his celebrity status.

“No, I will at some point, when the time is right,” he shared. “I got a one-year-old, a three-year-old and a five-year-old.”

However, his 13-year-old son Jack is more aware. “Now, Jack, who’s 13, has seen everything, but my three youngest have yet to really get into that,” Pratt explained.

Pratt also recalled a recent outing where he was in Malibu with his daughters.

A group of young women from the Pepperdine volleyball team approached him for a photo.

Pratt, ever the devoted dad, politely declined, explaining to the volleyball players: "I was with my girls, I was like, you know, ‘I don’t really do that when I’m with them because they don’t know what I do and they don’t know what this is, but what’s your name?’”

Pratt continued: “They were looking at me like, ‘Why do those people want to take a picture with you?’ I was like, ‘I don’t know. I think they’re crazy.'”
