The divorce of Chris Pratt and Anna Faris really was a devastating blow for us romantics. They were together for eight years, and the way Anna described their relationship in her book, Unqualified, made it seem like it was totally a fairytale romance. She wrote about how he would braid her hair and send flowers to her workplace every Friday, adding that he "taught" her "how to be happy".

Anna's book, which was published mere months after the announcement of their divorce, chronicles how they first met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight while she was still married to her first husband, Ben Indra. She says that they fell in love over long walks and late night chats, with Anna ultimately leaving Ben for Chris when she realised that she was in the wrong relationship.

But alas, things didn't work out, and the couple announced their separation over social media almost exactly a year ago. "We are sad to announce we are legally separating," they shared in a joint statement. "We tried hard for a long time, and we’re really disappointed."

Since the divorce, the couple has continued to speak highly of one another, and are keeping things civil to ensure that their six-year-old son Jack remains a priority. Anna has been dating cinematographer Michael Barrett since November, and Chris has had an ongoing summer fling with Katherine Schwarzenegger - Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver's daughter.

However, in an interesting turn of events, they were recently spotted hanging out together without Jack. The ex-couple was seen out in public going for walks on Monday and Tuesday, according to E! News. Little Jack was with them on the Monday, all smiles and skipping between his parents, who also seemed pretty happy on their walk through Santa Monica, California.

The next day, however, Chris, 39, and Anna, 41, were pictured without their son. Again, they were going for a casual daytime scroll, both wearing some kind of lanyard.

While tabloids and hopeful fans might be ready to point at the pics and scream that they are getting back together... I wouldn't be so sure. I mean, exes can be friends, and these guys probably see each other all the time because of Jack.

Anna detailed in her book how the relationship suffered when Chris shot to super-stardom.

"For a long time, I felt really lucky," she wrote. "Even though Chris was becoming hugely famous and I’d been sort of famous for a while, the two of us led such boring lives that the tabloids usually left us alone … But when Chris filmed Passengers with Jennifer Lawrence, that all changed."

"I didn’t think it would bother me … But then, when it actually started and magazines began running rumours, it was totally hurtful."

It's been confirmed several times that there was never any truth to the rumours about the Passengers co-stars forming a romantic relationship, though the associated stress of that period was ultimately what lead the couple to decide to mutually and amiably call it quits.

We're happy to see they still hang out, especially for the sake of Jack.
