Tuesday (August 11) marks six years since we lost one of the greatest comedians of all time. However, with the US 2020 election looming, Robin Williams' words have never been more appreciated.

Yes, as Joe Biden and Donald Trump prepare to compete for the presidency, many people on social media have sought comfort and laughter in the scathing remarks Williams made about both men in two separate stand-up routines.

Footage of Williams tearing into "Ramblin' Joe Biden" first resurfaced on Twitter on August 5, and was even shared by Hollywood icon James Woods.

Check out Williams roast Joe Biden below:

Woods captioned the clip: "Just when you think you couldn’t miss Robin Williams more..."

In the video, Williams calls out Biden's infamous botches at speaking event, saying: "We still have comedy though, we still have great comedy out there. There's always rambling Joe Biden. What the f***?

"Joe says s*** that even people with Tourette's go, 'No, no. What is going on?'"

Even Eric Trump shared the clip with his 3 million+ followers.

We can only imagine what Williams would have said about Biden's comments to Charlamagne Tha God about black voters...

Anyway, with many Trump supporters sharing the clip, one Twitter user was quick to point out that Williams also ripped into Trump during a stand-up routine.

"Well let's not forget he also did a skit on Trump in 2012. He was an equal opportunity comedian," the Twitter user wrote.

Now Trump is on the receiving end of Williams' comedy wit:

In the short clip, Williams manages to reference Trump's comments about Ivanka, says that Trump "plays Monopoly with real f***ing buildings," and ridicules the President's infamous hairstyle.

Naturally, people on social media loved seeing these clips resurface, and many speculated about the material Williams could work with if he were still alive.

"He'd have even more ammunition with Joe Biden at present, as the guy can't keep it together at the rallies. But yes miss Robin Williams humour," wrote one Twitter user.

Another added: "Yeah, but one thing is for sure, Robin Williams would have had a field day with Trump. The minute Trump wakes up in the morning, stupid starts immediately and generally lasts all day, every day! Imagine the material he would have had!"

Robin, we love you and we miss you.
