Doja Cat has turned heads on the Met Gala red carpet after showing up to the event in a soaking-wet T-shirt.

Last night, we saw a host of the world's biggest stars gather for one of the most influential nights in fashion: The Met Gala.

This year's theme, which was 'The Garden of Time', was inspired by the Costume Institute's own permanent collection 'Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion' which aims to highlight the multi-sensory experience of wearing clothes.

And with Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya all standing as co-chairs at this year's event, we were very excited to see what everyone had planned.

From multi-layered gowns to corset suits, we saw it all. But one thing we didn't quite expect to see was Doja Cat wearing a long, wet T-shirt.

Yeah, I'm not kidding.

The 'Paint The Town Red' singer posed on the red carpet donning a white, soaking wet Vetements T-shirt dress, designed by the company's creative director Guram Gvasalia with whom she walked the carpet, paired with clear platforms.

For her makeup, the star opted for a bold eye look, with a smokey shadow liner, thin straight-edged brows, and silver, iridescent tears streaming down her face.

While the look may sound simple, it had a pretty big impact on fans even though it might not have been in the best way.

"DOJA CAT WHAT IS THE REASONšŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜??? #MetGala," one user questioned on X, while another added: "

Prior to the event, the star was also snapped wearing nothing but a towel wrapped around her body - like a literal towel.

She also had a towel wrapped around her head giving fans a look at the ultimate shower-core look.

But again, they just weren't impressed.

"Doja Cat walked out the crib and thought 'THIS GONE KILL EM' this is embarrassing LMFAOOO," this user wrote.

"Noy [sic] way Doja Cat shows up in a towel from Amazon šŸ˜ #MetGala," another added.

A third also wondered whether Kanye West had dressed Doja, writing: "Did Kanye Dress Doja Cat for Tonight's Met Gala? At the star-studded event, where designers go all out to ensure everyone is dressed up, @DojaCat wore a towel. Was this Ye's idea?"

Speaking of her look with Entertainment Tonight, she stated that she opted for "cotton" as her "flower of choice."

ā€œI know that people are going to do flowers, but my flower of choice is the most-used flower - and itā€™s cotton,ā€ she told the outlet. ā€œI wanted to do a white T-shirt, also because a white T-shirt is timeless. And it felt very poetic to choose this.

"I knew it wasnā€™t going to blend in too much, and I donā€™t really like to blend in," she added.
