Donald Trump tweet about Russell Brand and Katy Perry resurfaces as comedian is found guilty of rape

An old tweet from President Donald Trump has resurfaced, following news that Russell Brand has been found guilty of rape and sexual assault charges.
The British actor appeared at London's Southwark Crown Court today (November 5) after two days of deliberations, as a jury delivered a verdict on all counts.
Brand, 51, was found guilty of one count of rape and three counts of sexual assault.
He was found not guilty on two other counts of rape and one of attempted indecent assault, as a judge told the Get Him to the Greek star to expect a 'significant custodial term'.
Mr Justice Bennathan added: "My current view is that I therefore have to remand you into custody," with Brand set to be sentenced on Monday.
Donald Trump's resurfaced tweet about Russell Brand
Brand famously married Katy Perry in a Hindu wedding near the Ranthambore tiger sanctuary in Rajasthan, India, back in October 2010, after meeting on the set of Get Him to the Greek.
But by December 2011, Brand filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences, with the divorce being finalized in July 2012.
A couple of years later, Brand was the subject of a Twitter feud started by Donald Trump for no particular reason.
The US President told followers back in 2014 that he saw the Brit on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, asking: "What the hell do people see in Russell?"
He then called him 'a major loser!'
Just ten minutes later, he posted: "@katyperry must have been drunk when she married Russell Brand @rustyrockets – but he did send me a really nice letter of apology!"
Brand hit back, asking: "@realDonaldTrump are you drunk when you write these tweets? Or does that foam you spray on your bald head make you high?"
The actor then joked about Trump's family inheritance, before sharing an article calling Trump a 'deadbeat' as he looked to run for President in 2016.
Then came the infamous tweet aimed at Brand and his ex-wife Perry, which read: "@katyperry Katy, what the hell were you thinking when you married loser Russell Brand. There is a guy who has got nothing going, a waste!"
Trump mentioned Perry again, writing: "I watched Russell Brand and I think his mind is fried - he looks really bad. Russell is a total joke, a dummy who is lost!"
Russell Brand is being investigated over further allegations
Brand was being tried on three charges of rape, three counts of sexual assault, and one of attempted indecent assault, which was reduced from indecent assault during the trial, based on allegations made by six women.
He firmly denied all allegations before his guilty verdict.
It was then reported by the Metropolitan Police that Brand is being investigated over further rape allegations made by two women.
Brand has already been questioned by officers about the complaints, as the Met Police said the investigation 'remains ongoing'.
They added in a statement: "The suspect has previously been interviewed under caution in connection with the allegations."
