The internet is currently flooded with a video of a CEO and his colleague embracing at a Coldplay concert, but a fake statement has also been doing the rounds.

At a recent Coldplay concert in Massachusetts, CEO Andy Byron was unexpectedly featured on the band’s famous “kiss cam”.

Standing behind HR chief Kristin Cabot, Byron wrapped his arms around her waist as they swayed along to the music. Frontman Chris Martin noticed the pairing, quipping into his mic: “Oh, look at these two.”

From there, things got uncomfortable. Cabot appeared stunned, covering her face, while Byron ducked out of the camera’s view and vanished from shot. The singer then joked: “Alright, come on – you're okay. Okay, what? Either they're having an affair, or they're just very shy.”

Viral Reaction - and False Apology Statement

Once viewers discovered that both Byron and Cabot are married to other people, the clip quickly went viral. It didn’t take long before a supposed apology statement from Astronomer - quoting a Coldplay lyric - made the rounds.

But TMZ reports that Astronomer has confirmed the statement is fake.

According to the outlet, Astronomer described the circulating message as “not a real statement” while declining to comment on whether Byron plans to issue his own response.

Who Are Those Involved?

Byron took the reins as CEO of Astronomer, a New York City–based data orchestration platform specializing in mission-critical analytics, Ai, and software, in 2023, per his LinkedIn profile. Cabot, the company’s Chief People Officer, has been with Astronomer for nine months.

The Sun reported that Cabot appears to have removed “Thornby,” her second surname, from her social media profiles - a detail sparking additional interest after the concert video went viral.

There is currently no official statement from anyone involved.
