Social media users have a bone to pick with Chris Pratt over his most recent Instagram post.

Earlier this week, the 42-year-old actor took to the platform to gush over his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger, as part of a lengthy pre-birthday tribute.

However, some fans have interpreted the lovey-dovey post as being disparaging towards his ex-wife, Anna Faris, and the nine-year-old son they share, Jack.

The Jurassic World star wrote: "Guys. For real. Look how she’s looking at me! I mean. Find you somebody that looks at you like that!! You know!? We met in church. She’s given me an amazing life, a gorgeous healthy daughter, she chews so loudly that sometimes i put in my ear buds to drown it out, but that’s love!"

He continued: "She helps me with everything. In return, periodically, I open a jar of pickles. That’s the trade. Her heart is pure and it belongs to me. My greatest treasure right next to my Ken Griffey Jr Upper Deck Rookie card.

"Which if you know, you know is saying a lot. It’s her birthday in about 6 weeks. So if I don’t get her anything, I’ll tell her to look back on this post. Love you honey."

Now, what some fans are up in arms about is that Pratt drew attention to the fact that Schwarzenegger had "given" him a "gorgeous healthy daughter".

The reason for this is that his son Jack, Pratt's first child with Faris, was actually a premature baby, who had to spend a number of weeks in the NICU before his parents could take him home.

At the time, a pediatric neurosurgeon told Faris and Pratt that Jack had some severe brain bleeding and there was a chance that he could be developmentally disabled, the actress revealed in her memoir, Unqualified.

So, taking issue with Pratt's wording in his Instagram post, one person took to Twitter to share: "I have two children. One is special needs. If someone described only one of my children as healthy and gorgeous, I’d probably lose my s***. Anna Faris and her beautiful son deserve better than these cheap shots."

Another wrote: "Oh Anna Faris dodged a manbaby sized bullet huh."

A third commented: "chris pratt shading his own f****** son with thanking his new wife giving him 'a gorgeous healthy daughter' when his son has health issues is such a f****** low blow.

"I wish i had a father of the year award to hit him with. anna faris and jack doesn’t deserve this s***. [sic]"

A fourth Twitter user added: "As someone who has had and lost a special needs child, this just confirms to me the type of person Chris Pratt is. I'm not going to dwell on that but rather to the great job Anna Faris has been to their son Jack."

"Yikes! Chris Pratt seems like a pretty gross person, Anna Faris kicks a**," a fifth tweeted, alongside a screenshot of the Instagram post.

And one person commented on the original Instagram post saying: "Yeah, lost respect for you in this post for multiple reasons.. sad."

The response the post eventually led to Anna Faris' name trending on Twitter, per Pop Crave.
