Kim Kardashian left fans concerned rather than in awe with her 2024 Met Gala look.
The 43-year-old reality TV star was one of the many high-profile celebrities who walked the red carpet on Monday night, as the Met Gala took over The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The prestigious event has become a must-see for fashion lovers, as stars compete to have the most eye-catching look - with this year’s theme being ‘The Garden of Time’, inspired by a 1962 short story written by J.G. Ballard.
The theme coincides with the Costume Institute’s ‘Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion’ exhibit.

And although Kim’s appearance at the event certainly was eye-catching, many of her fans were refusing to give the SKIMS founder her flowers as she showed off her painfully small waist in a corset gown.
The silver John Galliano corset-style dress certainly was stunning - as Kim accessorized with a simple grey shawl. But it was her cinched waist that had everybody talking.
After sharing a series of photos of her in the dress on her Instagram page, many of her 363 million followers criticized her look, with people branding it “scary”, “unhealthy”, and “painful”.
“I’m sorry I am a fan but the waist in this photo is not ok,” one person commented.
A second added: “I respect the branding beast she is as well as the style but the waist is scary.”
“To all the ladies, this isn’t natural dont think for one sec this is what you need to look like,” one Instagram user wrote.
“Looks like you're in pain,” one person said, with another unimpressed user simply commenting: “Dislike.”
Another Instagram user branded the look: “Unhealthy standards and unhealthy looking.”
As well as the tiny waist, there was another element of Kim’s look that fans struggled to comprehend - her grey shawl.
While I’m sure many of us can attest to having a night out saved by a decent fleece or cardigan, Kim’s fans felt like the added touch was more distracting than her waist.
One person jokingly commented: “What’s with the GAP cardigan?”
Another added: “We are gonna need a full explanation on the cardigan choice.”
Yes, it certainly hasn’t been a great weekend for Kim, who - just one night prior - was nearly booed out of the LA Kia Forum when she took to the stage at the Netflix comedy special, The Greatest Roast of All Time: Tom Brady.
Despite going on to make some pretty decent jokes (for a non-comedian), fans were quick to voice their displeasure at the business mogul when she took to the podium to roast the former NFL quarterback. Check out the moment below:
Kim’s bad night didn’t end there.
When Brady eventually took to the stage at the end of the night to return the favor and take shots at his celebrity roasters, he delivered what was perhaps the most brutal joke of the evening.
“I know Kim was terrified to be here tonight… not because of this but because her kids are at home with their dad,” Brady said, referring to Kim’s tumultuous relationship with ex-husband Kanye West.
