Mike Tyson's bare backside being shown to the world during the build-up to his fight with Jake Paul wasn't on our 2024 bingo card - and it appears Paul was just as stunned as the rest of us.

Tyson, 58, stepped into the ring for his first professionally sanctioned boxing match in 19 years on Friday, taking on 27-year-old Paul.

The long-awaited event was streamed for free on Netflix, with Paul - who is 31 years younger than Tyson - eventually emerging victorious.

However, as well as the action inside the ring, there was one other event that got everybody talking - Tyson's interview before the bout.

Or more specifically, what he was wearing during it...

Prior to the main event, Tyson was interviewed backstage by his son, Amir, as he prepared to step back in the ring.

Tyson promised his son that he would bring home a "vicious win" and gave him a kiss on the cheek before he turned around and showed millions of people his bare butt cheeks.

The unexpectedly hilarious scene ended up becoming one of the most-talked-about moments from the match, as fans tweeted: "Like this post if you just saw Mike Tyson’s a** on Netflix. Share if you want to curse others who may not have."

"The only time my Netflix has worked the entire night, and they show me Mike Tyson’s bare a**," another person tweeted.

And it turns out that his opponent, Paul, was just as gobsmacked by what he saw as new footage captured his reaction.

In a clip shared by Happy Punch, the YouTuber-turned-boxer could be seen watching a screen backstage, before pointing at the television and repeatedly saying: "Bro, what the f**k?"

Paul was then seen walking away with a stunned expression on his face as he shook his head in disbelief.

The camera then cut to his brother, Logan Paul, who simply said: "Damn!"

People commented: "Still can’t believe Netflix aired that lmao," and: "Everybody had that same reaction, cause nobody was expecting that when he camera zoomed out."

One person joked: "The most impressive thing about this video is that [Jake] somehow actually got @netflix to stream the feed while the rest of us got nonstop buffering."

Another quipped: "Wow you know you’ve done something stupid when @jakepaul is shaking his head in disbelief."

Tyson has yet to address the situation, but given he was just strolling around in front of live cameras in that attire, we somehow suspect he's not that bothered that the world saw his buns.

Iron Mike also said he was planning to get another face tattoo following the fight, telling the New York Post ahead of getting in the ring: "I’m thinking about some tattoos. I think I just want to do my face, my whole face."

He got the distinctive pattern that frames his left eye and cheek in 2003, but remained tight-lipped about what a potential next design would be, teasing: "I’m not going to tell you, but it’s going to be interesting.”
