As previously reported, Wactor - who is best known for his role as Brando Corbin in more than 160 episodes of the hit ABC soap opera General Hospital - died earlier this year in Los Angeles.

Speaking to TMZ at the time, the actor's mom Scarlett revealed that her son had just finished a shift at a nearby rooftop bar when he and his co-worker Anita Joy were allegedly met by the three masked suspects who were by his vehicle attempting to steal his catalytic converter.

The incident, which occurred on May 25 during the early hours of the morning, resulted in Wactor being shot trying to shield his co-worker after attempting to talk to one of the criminals.

Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, the 37-year-old was pronounced dead.

It was confirmed that the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner determined that the actor died from a gunshot wound to the chest. His manner of death is listed as a homicide.

Wactor’s grieving mother said her son died a “hero” and has slammed the “coward” who killed him.

Months on from the harrowing incident, four people have now been arrested for their involvement in the actor's killing.

According to a news release from the LAPD, officers conducted search warrants that led to the arrests early on Thursday morning. They also discovered further evidence at the scene but have not given any other details about it as of yet.

Four suspects were arrested in Los Angeles; 18-year-old Robert Barceleau of Huntington Park, 18-year-old Leonel Gutierrez and 18-year-old Sergio Estrada of Los Angeles County as well as Frank Olano, age 22, of South Los Angeles.

Three of the suspects were booked on arrest warrants for murder and the fourth was booked as an accessory.

At a news conference earlier in the week, his mother described how it feels to have lost her son.

'Grief is my constant companion,” Scarlett said. “I can’t wish him happy birthday on August 31 - he would have been 38. I can’t ask if he’s coming home for Christmas. I can’t ask how his day went.

"They robbed us of a wonderful person. We miss him dearly," she added.
