From Beyoncé and Jay-Z naming their eldest daughter Blue Ivy and their twins Rumi and Sir to Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin famously naming their daughter Apple -- you'd think we'd have heard them all by now.

Enter US actor and singer Darren Criss, who recently left his 3.1 million Instagram followers perplexed after sharing his newborn son's unique name.

The former Glee star, together with his wife Mia, welcomed their second child earlier this month.

Sharing the news along with adorable photos of the baby sporting oversized sunglasses on Instagram, Criss initially captioned the post: "M & D just delivered their follow-up single. [...] Brother László Criss [...] 6/3/24 [...] Out now."

However, the announcement quickly prompted a flurry of reactions from fans and followers questioning whether "Brother" was indeed the child's first name or a playful typo.

"Darren... I adore you... But you just doomed your kid to mockery for the rest of his life," one fan commented.

A second added: "The future girlfriend/boyfriend is gonna be calling him brother."

Some were incredibly blunt with their criticism, with a third typing: "Sorry but I am gonna judge a stranger’s baby on the internet. Brother?"

"Some people need to remember (or outright realise) their babies are actual human beings they are choosing to name," a fourth wrote, with another asking outright: "Is his first name Brother??"

Responding to the speculation, Criss later clarified in an update, "... and yes his first name is Brother."

The revelation led to varied responses online, with some commenters expressing surprise and skepticism over the unconventional name choice. "If you need to say 'yes his name really is…', chances are you picked a bad name," remarked one user.

(Personally -- and don't come for me in the comments -- I like the name, and I think people will get used to it faster than they may initially realize.)

The couple announced Mia's pregnancy in December with a playful Instagram post, featuring a photoshopped movie poster from Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again adorned with their faces and two positive pregnancy tests.

It looks like Darren Criss continues to captivate fans -- not only with his acting and singing talents but also with his unique approach to parenting and family life.
