After her split from her on-and-off boyfriend Elon Musk, Grimes is reportedly now in a relationship with former U.S. Army intelligence analyst and whistleblower Chelsea Manning, Page Six reports.
“They’re getting serious. They U-Hauled it,” a source told the outlet. “They’ve been living together in Austin.”
The source also said that Manning still has her apartment in Brooklyn.
The two sparked speculations that they were dating after they started interacting on Twitter over the last few months.
In one of the recent exchanges, Grimes gave her reasoning as to why she had not yet made an appearance on a user's Twitch stream, explaining in a tweet that she had not been “in LA” but felt “bad for postponing like 10 times.” Manning responded to the tweet by writing: “vouch.”
Also in December, Grimes tweeted: “Celebrity culture is suffocating a f. I’m not quitting music, but def changing my main day job after BOOK 1. Music industry feels old and tired, reliant on archaic systems.”
Manning again responded, “vouch,”, with Grimes replying: “Since I seem to be taking ur word as final these days.”
Manning also has “liked” a number of tweets related to Grimes, which includes the announcement of her Vanity Fair cover story, in which it was revealed that she is now a mother of two, after secretly welcoming a child with billionaire Tesla founder Elon Musk late last year.
Manning is known for leaking hundreds of thousands of documents to WikiLeaks. She was sentenced to 35 years behind bars after being convicted of 20 crimes, including six violations of the Espionage Act.
In any case, news of their relationship comes not long after Grimes revealed, apparently without meaning to in a Vanity Fair profile, that she and Musk had welcomed a second baby via surrogate, a daughter named Exa Dark Sideræl Musk.
For the interview, Grimes, 33, invited a reporter over to her home in Austin, Texas. When the journalist heard a baby cry, they asked if she had another child aside from her son.
"I'm not at liberty to speak on these things," Grimes told the magazine in response. "Whatever is going on with family stuff, I just feel like kids need to stay out of it, and X is just out there.
