Ford continued:
"You don’t know pleasure until someone pays you to take Sean Connery for a ride in the sidecar of a Russian motorcycle bouncing along a bumpy, twisty mountain trail and getting to watch him squirm.
"God, we had fun. If he’s in heaven, I hope they have golf courses. Rest in peace, dear friend."
Per BBC News, Connery died in his sleep at his home in the Bahamas at the age of 90. The news of his passing was confirmed by his son on Saturday, October 31.

Per Variety, Star Wars creator and Indiana Jones co-creator George Lucas also paid his respects to the Scottish actor, writing:
"Sir Sean Connery, through his talent and drive, left an indelible mark in cinematic history. His audiences spanned generations, each with favorite roles he played.
"He will always hold a special place in my heart as Indy’s dad. With an air of intelligent authority and sly sense of comedic mischief, only someone like Sean Connery could render Indiana Jones immediately into boyish regret or relief through a stern fatherly chiding or rejoiceful hug.
"I’m thankful for having had the good fortune to have known and worked with him. My thoughts are with his family."
Meanwhile, fellow Bond actor Pierce Brosnan wrote to his 1.4 million Instagram followers "Sir Sean Connery, you were my greatest James Bond as a boy, and as a man who became James Bond himself."
"You cast a long shadow of cinematic splendor that will live on forever. You led the way for us all who followed in your iconic footsteps.
"Each man in his turn looked to you with reverence and admiration as we forged ahead with our own interpretations of the role. You were mighty in every way, as an actor, and as a man, and will remain so till the end of time.
"[You] were loved by the world, and will be missed. God bless, rest now, be at peace."
"He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster.
"He will continue to influence actors and film-makers alike for years to come. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones. Wherever he is, I hope there is a golf course."

"He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster.

Former James Bond star George Lazenby, who portrayed the spy in the 1969 movie On Her Majesty's Secret Service, also penned a touching tribute to Connery. He wrote:
"Only a few weeks ago I was wishing Sean all the best for his 90th birthday. Now, I'm very sad to be condoling with his family and friends.
"Of course, Sean Connery as James Bond inspired me personally but seems to have encapsulated an age, the Sixties.
"I met Sean a couple of times and I was pleased he'd given my Bond film, On Her Majesty's Secret Service, his seal of approval.
"He was going to do my film many times and felt it was the best of the Fleming tales. But, to me, the most important thing was his work went far beyond Bond: into charity, into family, into politics and into golf. A man after my own heart.
"A great actor, a great man and underappreciated artist has left us.
"My thoughts are with Lady Micheline and Sean's children and grandchildren. Only love, George XXX"
And per the New York Times, Timothy Dalton, who portrayed James Bond in the movies The Living Daylights (1987) and License To Kill (1989), said in a statement:
"Sean was a wonderful presence. A great leading man."
Several other members of the James Bond family also paid their respects to the late star.
The family of the late actor Roger Moore - who portrayed 007 on the big screen seven times - said in a heartfelt tribute:

And James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli said in a shared statement:
"We are devastated by the news of the passing of Sir Sean Connery.
"He was and shall always be remembered as the original James Bond whose indelible entrance into cinema history began when he announced those unforgettable words — 'The name’s Bond... James Bond' — he revolutionized the world with his gritty and witty portrayal of the sexy and charismatic secret agent.
"He is undoubtedly largely responsible for the success of the film series and we shall be forever grateful to him."
And Dame Shirley Bassey - who sang the themes to three Bond films including Goldfinger - paid tribute saying:
"I'm incredibly saddened to hear of Sean's passing. My thoughts are with his family. He was a wonderful person, a true gentleman and we will be forever connected by Bond."

Scotland’s first minister Nicola Sturgeon also spoke out on social media, as the nation "mourns one of her best-loved sons".
Sturgeon wrote in a lengthy Twitter thread: "I was heartbroken to learn this morning of the passing of Sir Sean Connery. Our nation today mourns one of her best-loved sons.
"Sean was born into a working class Edinburgh family and through talent and sheer hard work, became an international film icon and one of the world's most accomplished actors.
"Sean will be remembered best as James Bond – the classic 007 – but his roles were many and varied. He was a global legend but, first and foremost, a patriotic and proud Scot – his towering presence at the opening of @ScotParl in 1999 showed his love for the country of his birth."
She added that Connery was "a lifelong advocate of an independent Scotland and those of us who share that belief owe him a great debt of gratitude".
Sturgeon concluded by saying: "It was a privilege to have known Sean.
"When I last spoke to him it was clear even then that his health was failing – but the voice, the spirit, and the passion that we all loved so well were still there. I will miss him. Scotland will miss him. The world will miss him. My thoughts and condolences are with Micheline, their children, and all the family. RIP Sir Sean Connery."

Following heartfelt tributes from 007 actors Daniel Craig and Pierce Brosnan, now perhaps Connery's Dr. No co-star Ursula Andress has spoken out about working with the big-screen icon.
Perhaps Connery's most iconic and recognizable co-star out of all of his Bond movies, Andress played the bikini-clad Honey Ryder in Eon Productions' first movie in the franchise back in 1962.
The legendary Bond girl spoke to Italian newspaper Corriere della Sera about working with Connery, recalling how the Scottish was "was full of vitality" and "of passion for women".
Speaking about Connery's passing, Andress said: "I feel great pain over Sean Connery's death.
"He was a great man. Today, such men no longer exist, they are all too narcissistic, too absorbed in themselves. Someone like Sean is hard to find today. He was a great friend and a fabulous actor."
[[imagecaption|| Credit: PA Images]]
Speaking about the moment she first met Connery, Andress said: "I was a little scared. We were on the set in Kingston and I didn't know Jamaica.
"We met for the first time in the dining room of the small hotel where we were staying; he was alone at the table and I was fearful. But then it all passed. During the making of the film he was very protective of me, adorable, fantastic."

Recalling the friendship between the two, the 84-year-old star said: "He had a sense of humor that I liked a lot. The last time I saw him was in Switzerland. Sean had a house near me in Gstaad.
"We spent many evenings together and he would invite me everywhere, Monte Carlo, London, New York, from when we met until now we always remained friends."
She concluded by saying: "We lived some beautiful moments and I will always have fabulous memories.
"For me, Sean is not dead. He will always be alive, with me forever."
