Jackass star Sean McInerney was hospitalized after being attacked by a shark in a stunt gone wrong.
McInerney, a crew member, was bitten by the apex predator as he wakeboarded over shark-invested waters for a series of stunts that were being carried out for Shark Week, per the Daily Mail.
Steve-O and Chris Pontius decided to send McInerney on the dangerous stunt after the pair managed to carry out similar antics without injury during their Discovery special on Sunday (July 11).
They sent McInerney off a ramp in a bid to see him "jump the shark".

Steve-O, who has also been bitten by sharks while filming for the show, was grateful that the injury wasn't worse, asking: "This was only one bite in one spot? And he's not missing anything?"

As a result of the bite, Poopies suffered artery and tendon damage.
Steve-O said of the crew's quick rescue: "He would be f**king dead if they didn't dive on him as fast as they did. Jesus, he got wrecked by a shark! For a Shark Week episode!"

"It's a reminder that yeah, like, we are pushing it pretty hard. And this could happen, of course," Pontius added. "It's either, like, everything's okay or this happens. And hopefully, it's always everything's okay, everything's okay. But then... you know, this time it's not okay."
Despite his injury, McInerney was in good spirits when he was interviewed after the accident.
"I definitely got a degree in shark college there," he said. "I knew there was a chance I was going to get bit by a shark, but I didn't think it was going to happen."
McInerney also made a point of stressing that he doesn't blame the sharks for what happened to his arm.
"I don't blame the sharks at all. I mean, I was in their living room, and it was dinnertime," he said.
