Jamie Foxx has taken to Instagram to pay tribute to the memory of his late sister on World Down Syndrome Day.
According to People, the 53-year-old actor and comedian took to his official Instagram account to share an image of his sister DeOndra Dixon, who died last year at the age of 36.
In an emotional post on Sunday, March 21, the Django Unchained star uploaded a picture of DeOndra, Foxx wrote:
"My heart ...my breath ... my soul... I hear your laughter in the house... I hear you sliding down the stairs... my heart... my breath... my soul... I love u Deondra my angel #worlddownsyndromeday2021"
The post quickly managed to accrue a lot of love and support from other social media users, wracking up more than 531,000 likes and a further 12,700 comments from Foxx's fans and followers, as of the time of writing.

For instance, actress Elise Neal wrote: "Sending much love to u at this time, loss of a sibling is difficult. [sic]"

And Queen Latifa added: "God bless you and Your family Jamie! Your sister was sweet and sassy and funny and Love you. I feel honored to have met such a light! [sic]"

Internet mogul Loren Ridinger wrote simply: "Love you Deondra. Love u all. [sic]"

Journalist Demetria Obilor wrote: "Deepest condolences. So sorry for your loss. "

People reports that Foxx first broke the news of his sister's death in an Instagram post made back in October, in which he shared a black and white photograph of DeOndra with his 12 million followers.
Foxx captioned it: "My heart is shattered into a million pieces... my beautiful loving sister Deondra has transitioned... I say transitioned because she will always be alive... anyone who knew my sis... knew that she was a bright light.
"I can't tell you how many times we have had parties at the house where she has got on the dance floor and stolen the show... Even gave her boyfriend @chrisbrownofficial a run for his money."
He continued: "Well I know she is in heaven now dancing with her wings on...tho my pain is unbelievable I smile when I think of all of the great memories that she left me... my family... and her friends…
"[From] dancing in the blame it video… to Dancing on the Grammys… And becoming The ambassador to @globaldownsyndrome... from sliding down my stairs with a grin as wide as the rio grand. to serenading us with all of her music.
"Deondra you have left A hole in my heart... but I will fill it with all of the memories that you gave me ... I love you with every ounce of me... our family is shattered but we will put the pieces back together with your love... and y'all please keep my family in your prayers. [sic]"
