The star, best known for his roles in hit movies such as Django Unchained, Miami Vice, and Horrible Bosses, has finally delved into the details of his mysterious hospitalization that led to him being under medical care for 20 days.

Foxx was hospitalized in Atlanta on April 11, 2023, after he reportedly suffered a “medical complication” while filming his Netflix movie, Back in Action.

At the time, his daughter Corinne Foxx took to Instagram to update fans on her father's condition after word got out about the sudden emergency.

"We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday," she said on her Stories. "Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers. The family asks for privacy during this time."

A month later, Foxx issued his first statement since the ordeal that left him initially unresponsive.

"Appreciate all the love!!!" he wrote in an Instagram post on May 3. "Feeling blessed."

He did not directly address what happened to him, though in July, he opened up about his "hellish" experience in more detail.

“I know a lot of people were waiting or wanting to hear an update, but to be honest with you, I didn’t want you to see me like that, man,” Foxx said in an emotional video posted to social media. “I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was going to make it through.”

While Foxx didn’t disclose his illness he did state that he was "on the road to recovery."

Now, a year later, a new viral video has seen the star explaining exactly what happened to him including what led to his hospitalization while speaking to a group of restaurant patrons in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Look, April 11 last year, bad headache, asked my boy for an Advil. I was gone for 20 days,” he said in a video posted to X (formerly Twitter).

“I don’t remember anything,” the Oscar winner continued in the clip which has now been viewed over five million times. “I’m in Atlanta, they told me... my sister and my daughter took me to the first doctor. They gave me a cortisone shot.

“The next doctor said, ‘There’s something going on up there,'” Foxx added, pointing to his head. "I won’t say it on camera... But it was..."

The star didn't finish his sentence but his facial expression said it all.
