There's been much talk of a potential Friends reunion in the near future, as we recently passed the 15th anniversary since the show came to an end in 2004. Jennifer Aniston even made it sound like the gang could be getting back together - but later backtracked on those comments.

"Okay. Why not? You know what, because, listen, I told you this," Aniston told Ellen DeGeneres when she asked about a potential reunion. "I would do it… The girls would do it. And the boys would do it, I’m sure. Listen. Anything could happen."

Just this week, the actress went back on it slightly, telling Entertainment Tonight: "Well, 'no' was getting me nowhere, and 'maybe' was getting me nowhere. So I thought I’d try “yes”. See what would happen. Sorry!"

But that doesn't mean she can't speculate on where Rachel would be in 2019. In a teaser clip for her appearance on the Today show, alongside Adam Sandler, she was asked whether Rachel and Ross would still be together.

"Yes, absolutely," she said without hesitation. "Emma’s grown up. She’s in college?’ she asked, before correcting herself: "Not yet."

Sandler then added to it, by clarifying: "High school. She’s vaping in high school and you’re just looking the other way. Way to go."

Not everyone is so hopeful for Rachel and Ross' future, however. According to relationship expert Zoe Coetzee, the pair probably wouldn't still be together. Speaking to Metro, Coetzee said:

"In the romantic rhetoric of happily ever after, it’s easy to forget that lasting love is based on more than grand gestures, and a relationship which blows hot and cold doesn’t make for a healthy foundation.

"Ross and Rachel are perhaps one of the most iconic couples in TV history, but on closer inspection there’s a lot to learn from their relationship. In my opinion, imagining where they would be today, they wouldn’t be together."

It seems like Aniston doesn't agree - but who knows what could happen if they actually go through with a reunion?
