Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez have called it quits after just over two years of marriage.

According to a report from TMZ, the 55-year-old 'Jenny From The Block' singer filed for divorce from husband Affleck, 52, on Tuesday (August 20).

Lopez filed the papers herself without an attorney present in Los Angeles County Superior Court and listed April 26, 2024, as the date of separation. She is technically self-represented.

The documents reportedly state that both parties must share financial information, which includes their current income, expenses, properties, and debts. Lopez will have 60 days to carry out this action, and Affleck will have a further 60 days.

The divorce comes two years after the pair - dubbed Bennifer - hosted a lavish wedding party in Georgia on August 20, 2022, after tying the knot in a small, private ceremony in Las Vegas on July 16, 2022.

TMZ sources have alleged that the former couple does not have a prenuptial agreement in place, which means earnings from the past two years could be deemed community property during the divorce proceedings.

The dissolution of their marriage follows reports that the two had spent most of the summer separated, with the 'Let's Get Loud' singer spending the couple's second wedding anniversary and her 55th birthday in the Hamptons, New York, while the Gone Girl actor remained in Los Angeles for much of the summer.

Furthermore, several sources reported that the pair's marriage was over after they allegedly put the mansion they shared in Beverly Hills since June 2023 on the market.

"She tried really hard to make things work, and is heartbroken," an insider revealed to PEOPLE. “The kids are a top priority, as they always have been.”

The actors first sparked a romance after working on the set of the 2003 movie Gigli, in which they played criminals stuck on the same job. They had originally planned to marry that year but called off their relationship early in 2004.

The stars rekindled their romance almost two decades later, following Lopez's split from former MLB star Alex Rodriguez. They got engaged in April 2022 and then held a surprise wedding in Las Vegas three months later.

“Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient,” Lopez announced after the wedding.

The pair most recently collaborated on the Hustlers actress' Prime Video musical documentary This Is Me... Now: A Love Story, which accompanied the release of her album of the same name in February.

The 'I'm Real' singer was meant to go on tour for the new album but canceled it in May to "take time off to be with her children, family, and close friends," per NBC. This led to many fans wondering if her marital problems were also a contributing factor.

Lopez and Affleck have not yet shared a public statement about their divorce.
